Brilliant USB, Practical AI Enabled Platform NM500, neuromorphic chip (NM500 1)

First off, hats off to Nepes, because I accidentally left the USB drive in my business causal pants for work, while putting it through a washing and drying cycle. For those that would like to recreate my stress test, the washer and dryer was on "Permanent Press", and the washer and dryer was set to the longest time for each. The washer had the highest level of water in it called "Super" lol.Now, lets get down to bit-ness (not business lol) …This device works, but I had to email Nepes to get a link to download a copy of Knowledge Studio (which comes with the driver), because Knowledge Studio (I will start referring to this as KS for short) is in Beta, I assume that this is the reason that it is not available to download on the company’s website. I wish that there was a version that worked with Ubuntu and Mac OS. If I remember correctly, KS works with Android and Windows. I am still learning how to use this, but Knowledge Studio is refreshing, as it allows you to create AI without coding. The app is also clean, you can create AI very quickly, and the device is pretty fast. Unlike the other AI devices for the edge that I own, you can actually train neural nets on this low powered thing quickly and cheaply – insane! 😊 The owner’s manual is enough to get started with a basic example, but you must figure out how to get the image loaded on your own, because the owner’s manual does not cover this. I wish that there were more examples included, and I also wish that there more videos showing how to use it on Youtube. Also, tutorials would be nice. I realize that all of this is probably coming. Unlike everything else I do, I am sooooo happy that I do not have to code when I create neural networks on this. I plan to update this review as I learn more about how to use this and create cool things.I would like to learn how to use this for an edge device, so that it automatically starts in continuous mode (continuously infers) when the device turns on. So far this is a hidden gem.

Some issues. I reached out for information to download the sample code and the knowledge studio without a reply. Python source code available on git will not run on jetson nano as the library is precompiled so i am not able to compile the library for jetson aarch. The code is very basic for pi it does run on pi but any source code for image recognition samples using cv is not available. The tutorial i found explains to get the image recognition examples source but it is not to be found. Some basic api usage was available with little to none examples.? You can do a few functions with the source like check neurons and low level functions but not much more without example source. I requested source as well as info on downloading knowledge studio. I also posted a conversation on youtube without reply. I was not even able to find any forums for support. If anyone has a way to get support or even has a link to get knowledge studio it would be helpful. Maybe someone can post some example code on git. Source to recompile the library would also be great.

The 30 minutes to get it up and running as stated in the advertisement for these might be true if you have all the accounts for the software downloads. I have yet to get it running as I do not want to have to open multiple accounts just to download the various software bundles. If some one knows of a easier way I would sure like to know.
