Seven Years to Seven Figures: The Fast-Track Plan to Becoming a Millionaire

Not Some Pie in the Sky Scam, But You Should Be Realistic
Given the title of this book, reader expectations are bound to be high and some will be disappointed, however, I don't think comparisons to the Trump book are fair. Michael Masterson has literally gone from rags to riches in a very short time. The advice that he gives in this book is practical and useful. Using some of the techniques that he had highlighted in his Early To Rise e-letter and his other books, I've increased my income this year by over 100%. If you follow his advice and make wealth-building your primary goal, you will be successful. Will you reach seven figures in seven years? Those of you will uncommon drive and focus will have an excellent chance. Although real estate investing is only one of the vehicles that Masterson touts, I am concerned that it may be seven years before many novice real estate investors will make money in the aftermath of the bubble we are experiencing. The other advice, however, is excellent. I especially enjoyed the use of real life stories to illustrate the fundamental concepts of wealth building.

I can now see how to get to 7 figures in 7 years
My goal was to become millionaire by the age of 30. I’m now 31 but I’m not a millionaire, yet.Though reading the book, I can see where I went wrong. Even though I was making a high income, I didn’t know how to invest it. I kind of spent all of the money I made. But now after reading this book, I know better. So I’m setting a new goal for my self. I’m going to be a millionaire before I’m 38 years old. And this time I’ll make it happen, God willing! :-)

Practical
Very practical book not over the top yet not very detailed. Good read and good source of a few ideas. The writer talks from his point, and most of the success stories he identifies are from his background or path to wealth (they all do some kind of publishing or marketing for high salaries at a startup they have equity in and then buy real estate)

Good Ideas
If you wanted to be rich why wouldn't you read this book?It has many strategies and ideas about creating value, business ownership and creating passive income through business. Contrary to other reviewers that say it has alot of "rah rah" material like Rich Dad Poor Dad, this book has very specific descriptions of what people did to achieve financial success. I have never heard of these specific strategies before. These are the ideas that separate people who work their whole lives, live in poverty and retire in worse poverty, and those people that find a way to have all the money that they want.

Not great but some useful info
The book gives no great insights into making seven figures in seven years. In some respects the stories are of the lives of those who made seven figures in seven years are a bit too general. The entire book is a lot of very general information. There are some subtle and some not so subtle plugs for his newsletter, ETR. The newsletter is actually probably better than the book. There was one omission that seemed rather startling. When he talks about how you would live on different income levels, there was specific mention of housing, transportation, utilities, upkeep, routine maintenance, food and household supplies. But nowhere was there a mention of insurance - for cars, health or life. That seemed to be a major oversight. Some specific good advice, "Don't try to outsmart the markets." Even though he was talking about the stock markets, that is great advice for any market. He also gave some great advice on how to relate to employees. Most entrepreneurs are "go to" or "get it done" type people. And they often do not allow their employees to grow because they are doing the work for them. He gives a good couple of pages of advice on how to get more out of your employees.I have a lot of trouble with one particular sentence. Masterson writes, "And when our parents become old and feeble, we put them in state or private wards with other people's parents so they will not burden us." I find this offensive. There is a growing problem with the elderly today. Our ability to keep people alive has outrun society's ability to deal with an aging population. No doubt there are some who do not want to be burdened. But the vast majority of people I know with elderly parents are more concerned with providing the best possible quality of live for their parents. For many it is simply not possible to take care of them and the parents are not capable of taking care of themselves.
