Not for a beginner musician, but if you have a lot of training at another instrument first it should be ok.

Great book, arrived promptly

Classical Riq Technique is more than just a book. It is culmination of wisdom of one of the greatest musicians from the Middle East, now living in the US. Preserved for posterity, this book will surely guide generations to come. This book is a valuable treatise on the Riq, but can be equally adapted to the tabla. It is an essential study for any serious percussionist who hope to master the beauty of the riq. I have know Michel for several years and in that time found him to be a generous compassionate man who has dedicates himself to the music of the Middle East and especially the Arabic Tabla and Riq. Find a quiet place, relax and breathe...the journey has just begun.

Very useful. It contains a few techniques I hadn't come across before. Very good if you are interested in the instrument, or Arab percussion generally.

Il metodo è fatto bene. Lo stò studiando e mi sto anche divertendo molto. L'unica "pecca" è che tutto quello che c'è scritto (al di là delle partiture) è in inglese però con un buona app per tradurre si capisce il senso che vuol trasmettere l'autore. Le foto illustrative aiutano.
