Universal 48mm Motorcycle Pipe Baffle DB Killer

This would be easy for anyone to install. Good price alright quality too.

The dB killer came way ahead of schedule and fits perfectly, very pleased.

First, you have to make sure you get the right size so that the large end EXACTLY fits the end opening in the pipe. If there is any gap around the silencer and the ID of the pipe, it will not contain all of the exhaust as well. More importantly, the metal is so soft that any excess space allows the metal to bend as you try to tighten the set screw to hold it in place (and the screw will strip out very easily). I had to go to a bigger harder bolt for the set screw, and it seems to be holding for now.Having a set screw that actually WORKS (and one that STAYS set), is probably the single most important part of this simple device, since without it, it cannot work at all!

Looked great and sounded great for about 5 miles of the first ride. Heard a pop on the highway and saw it flying in the mirror. Stopped the bike and saw that the bolt was still there but the baffle sheared off completely.

I bought an old sport bike that had an insanely loud exhaust system. I measured the opening and figured this would work, and it does! Jammed it in, tightened the allen bolt, and now my ears don't bleed on every ride! The thin end has a little flapper that you can leave open or closed, I've only had it closed so I don't know how much more noise it would have if the flapper was open. But as an inexpensive way of quieting down a loud exhaust, this worked for me just fine.
