Anker Synthetic Leather Slim Case for iPad Mini 2 / 3 iPad Mini Retina [18-Month Warranty]

Up front, I'll mention that I have done quite a bit of business with Anker.....mostly their external batteries. I think the company offers great quality and value on everything I've ever bought from them. In addition, their customer service is top notch. In short, I would never hesitate to do business with them because of their good, high value products, and their customer service.Just bought an iPad Mini Retina, replacing an iPad Mini which I dropped (no case) and broke. This time, I decided to get a case to offer at least some protection. Going to the Apple site and the Apple Store, I soon realized how the cases that were out there were way over priced for what you get.I turned to Anker. Saw the Anker Color Palette Series. Priced right. So, I bought one (black). It fits perfectly. It's supposed to be "synthetic" leather. In truth, it looks and feels like the real thing. It's light (which was a prerequisite). It has the "magnet" sleep top cover that puts the iPad into sleep mode when closed. The cut outs for all controls are perfect. The "rubberized back" is sturdy and fits the iPad fine.If I could make one suggestion (and this would make my review 5 stars), they need to put some notches in the case for propping up the iPad. The interior is made up of soft, grippy material which is supposed to allow infinite angles to view the iPad without using your hands. It works, sort of. The slightest jar and the iPad collapses. Notches would alleviate this.Other than that, great cover. Great price. This is certainly a better value than those cases from Apple.

I purchased this Anker product for my brand new iPad mini retina back in February 2014. I was admittedly shopping for price and that's pretty much what I got. I'm actually happy with the product but the synthetic leather cover is pulling away from the cardboard base, pretty much on both the base and the cover flap. I'll have to glue it back but I'll keep on using it. It fits the iPad mini well and is quite protective. Overall, I give it 3 out of 5 stars because it still works and it was inexpensive. I got what I paid for.Update-31 October 2014I'm updating because Anker was nice enough to send a new iPad Mini case to me replacing the old one, free of charge. He's my reply to them:> Yes I did receive the replacement and it works well. I have to be honest>and let you know that my previous one worked well too, the problem was>several months later it started falling apart. It wasn't overused and I>don't/didn't use the iPad mini every day. Usually only on photography>shoots to download my pics afterward. My original case was in no way>abused, dropped in water or dampness or left in rain.>It was a very inexpensive case so I had chalked it up to "got what I paid>for." I use this case on my iPad mini retina and it fits perfectly. All holes line up and the cover folds over and lies nicely on the front or when folded back (flush to back or as a stand). The iPad fits easily but snugly into the polycarbonate inner case which has cut outs for the switches on the side, speakers and jack on bottom and most of the top edge. The synthetic leather outside is soft and smooth (like the feel of a wallet) but can become indented, like real leather, if compressed against something hard. The patterned microfiber lining inside protects the screen and provides some friction when used as a stand. It is slim case overall but seems strong. My reservations: The edges of this case are not sewn but glued so I am hoping it will hold up to repeated opening of the cover and also general wear and tear. This slim line case is cut close to, pretty near in line with, the top edge of the iPad. And the polycarbonate case on this top edge only covers the corners of the iPad so it is more exposed there. Overall, and for the price, a very nice case for everyday use. And it has an 18 month warranty from Anker!For traveling I use a thicker case which has its own issues so...no case is "perfect" but I'm quite pleased with this one :)

Would love this case if it would stay up. Because there are no grooves, it falls down all the time and is frustrating to view at an angle. Outside of that, super thin and durable. Also -1 because it does not protect all the corners, did get 2 minor scratches on the metallic rim b/c it was not protecting that area (I think it is likely a better fit for the slightly thinner Ipad Mini 1, not as good for the Retina). However, for minimalist protection, pretty good.Update: 5/8/14. Unsolicited, Anker saw my review and are doing their best to rectify situation. They listen and are responsive, that says a lot! Additionally, only company that has also emailed me, then checked in again, to make sure I am satisfied with my purchase. I purchased a screen protector from them as well and very pleased. +1 at least for customer service, I am changing my rating from a 3/5 to a 4/5 to reflect their customer service.

This is great value! The materials are really nice. This feels like someone paid lots of attention to the design when they made this.It's slim, feels good on. Just mind how the back is attached as you can see in the photos. But the ipad isn't likely to pop out of this I think.I'm buying my husband one now. He had the Forefront Case - and it's splitting on the corners. Not from being dropped, it looks like stress cracks. I'm glad I didn't get the same one!If you're giving it as a gift, the packaging is lovely. It's almost 100% recyclable, and nicely designed, easy to open.

I was really impressed when I saw this case for the price it was posted at. Less than £10! The material does look like real leather and I've already had people saying they liked it. It's really slim and it really doesn't add too much thickness to it at all yet it still protects my iPad well from all sides.The only problem I've encountered with this case is the faux leather coming away from the plastic in on or two of the corners but that's only when I've been using it in my bag and so on. Otherwise, this is a really good case for a really great price so I would really recommend it!

I looked at many different iPad Mini cases but they were either too expensive or too bulky. When I found this one I was dubious of the price but decided to buy it anyway as I have another Anker product and have found it to be very good quality. I'm really glad I bought this case because it was exactly what I was looking for. It's very thin and doesn't add much weigh plus I like the fact that the screen can be placed at any angle. I am using the case with the original iPad Mini and it fits perfectly.

A very good product. Well made a the ipad fits perfectly. The smart sleep/wake cover works perfectly. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is that the tilted viewing is limited because the cover is quite slippery so doesn't hold well beyond much off verticle. This is a minor gripe and the cover is an excellent buy and value for money.

Great case. Used it for about a year and the leather started to comes apart. Aside from this is looks great, is super thin, and really does protect your ipad. I've dropped my ipads several times since I've started using this case and no cracks/scratches as of yet.
