Easy to install
Quality OE replacement strut that works as it should. Maintains the factory ride quality. Everything you need to install included.

Quedan exactamente como el original sin hacer modificaciones
Si vas a cambiar es mejor comprar los dos al mismo tiempo porque el auto podría quedar más alto de un lado porque el resorte del amortiguador viejo se comprime por el peso y tiempo de uso

I bought the pair for both sides of my 07 G6 (172199 is the opposite side part #). Delivery was on time. Install went as smoothly as it could have. Possible issues with install: Sway bar link can be difficult to remove, esp in higher mileage vehicles (mine has 135K), as the links had already been replaced, and lack a flat spot behind the mounting bracket on the strut assy to grip while removing the 18mm top nut. This can be accomplished by placing a pry bar between the sway bar and lower control arm and levering downward to put pressure on the top link bolt to keep it from spinning while you unscrew the nut. I chose to replace the link on one side, as it was in pretty bad shape. $15 well spent. Also, be careful not to overtighten the top 3 mounting nuts. The bolts are made of a soft metal and will snap off if over-torqued (as I found out, and had to remove the entire assy, drill out the busted bolt, and replace with a separate nut/bolt.When you remove the old assy, place it next to the new one to ensure the flat spot on the ring at the top of the spring is in the same position, or the top mounting bolts won't line up with your factory mounting holes at the top end, thus causing you an unnecessary amount of stress thinking 'those a-holes sent me the wrong part!' This top ring will spin with some effort- not to worry. The ride is excellent, with no more of that annoying clunking with every imperfection of the roadways. Suspension is of factory stiffness, with a negligible amount of body roll when cornering.Definitely recommend this option as opposed to piecing out the strut, mounts, etc. Minimal tools needed for assembly. 18mm (lower mounts and link), 13mm (upper mounts), 10mm (brake line bracket). Hammer/punch to ease removal and reinstallation of lower mounting bolts. 4 stars only for the soft top mounting bolts.

Fits: 2008 Pontiac G6
Just installed it on my 2008 Pontiac G6. Time will tell if it holds up, but right now car feels sturdy. This fits on my Pontiac's driver side wheel. The top mounting plate needed to be rotated to properly align shaft. Best method I found for doing this was to first mount the strut assembly to the car using the three locator screws, then rotate the shaft by putting a screwdriver thru one of the lower bolt thru holes and twisting the assembly into position. Much easier than trying to rotate it by hand before mounting it to the car. Also, I had issues reconnecting the sway bar link. With car on stands, the top bolt on the link was too high relative to the mounting hole on the strut. But I found this bolt and hole are still accessible with the car laying flat on the ground, and lines up easier if you jack up the opposite side of the car. So I simply finished the install of the strut sans the sway bar reattachment, put the wheel back on, then jacked up the other side of the car to compress the driver side strut, and then reattached the link (with the wheel installed).

Fast Installation!!
After doing some research on changing the struts on my 2006 Malibu and reviewing the information regarding the spring compression and removal, I thought that for an extra $50 the complete assembly would be the way to go. If I did this work for a living, I'd have the spring compression tools, and the expertise to change out the shock portion of this strut assembly, but I don't! And this IS the way to go...IMO!!! Change-out time is just about as fast as changing a regular shock! But you will need to get an alignment after you change your struts. I got a 4 wheel alignment because I changed out both the front struts and the rear shocks.

There is a difference between a left strut part and a right.
2007 Pontiac G6 needed both front struts. According to the Amazon and Detroit Axle gods both struts are interchangeable. They are NOT! The CORRECT strut part number for the right front is172199. If your order, you will receive the left side which is a different part number (17200).Other than that bothersome glitch, it's an easy install.

Fits like a glove!
Good quality product, comparable to OEM strut but half the price. No surprises and fits like a glove.Had a broken spring. Technically all that needed to be replaced, but didn't want to fool around with having to compress a new spring to install it. Not to keen on the chance that the spring may snap out of compression (violently) while handling it. Instead, I just replaced the whole strut assembly. So much easier and safer in my opinion. Replace both sides so as to have equal suspension stiffness from driver-passenger side. Easy enough to do yourself and save without having to go to garage and pay for labor and markup on parts (with usually end being jobbers at OEM prices).Safety first! Always use jack stands and chalk the tires when working underneath or partially under the car.
