good value
Good for the money. It is manual everything so none of your cameras auto settings will adjust. I have a d5300 and use this lens for wildlife, I do a lot of bird documenting and monitoring. I have used it with and without a tripod and it takes practice either way. You just need to get out and play around with it. I get good moon shots if the moon is bright. One drawback is that it requires a lot of light which means either shooting objects that are in bright areas or using longer exposure time which makes the images a little blurry. This is a lens I take with me but is not the lens I keep on my camera all of the time. I usually keep a 18-140mm lens on it that has all of the auto adjustments. This a good lens I keep in my bag and take out when I find something up in a tree and want a close up. This lens takes practice to keep steady and to focus, I got a lot of blurry images at first until I got the hang of it. One awesome thing is that it is good to use even just at a telescope to see things far away. It has better zoom than most binoculars.

Value for the money
Lense is great. It is a manual lense so it takes some time to get good pictures. Considering the cost this is a great purchase.

this lens works OK when mounted to a tripod. I bought it to play with and it is a lot of playing around to get good pictures. as they say you get what you pay for so if you're looking for something just to play with, go for it. If you're looking for good performance you might want to look at something else.

Lacks clarity
Unless you plan to stabilize this, it’s not going to give you steady images. Shooting shots of birds is out of question since it just doesn’t provide that sense of stability and steadiness. The pictures will move. Cannot control the zoom or magnification in turn. The F stop becomes an issue.

Great photo expanse.
So far it has worked really well .All of the pictures are clear, and when you enlarge them ,they are still clear.Sometimes i've had problems making it tight ,but not very often

I tried!!!!
Okay here goes. As much as I wanted this lens to work for me, it just ain't happening. For the price I thought it was worth a try, but after more than a month and several hundred photos I only got about 5 photos that were usable. It has great range, but is almost impossible to focus, and believe me I have tried every tweak and adjustment and just when I thought I had a good photo on the camera LCD I would transfer the photo to a computer only to find out it was still out of focus. No amount of work with Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 could make these photos something I would be proud to print or display. I have been very patient, but can't recommend this lens to any serious photo hobbyist or photographer . I am going to keep this lens for now with hopes that someone or something will help me make this lens more usable. If there is anyone out there who might have some tips or could help please comment on my review. I would be grateful. Thanks Bob Turner

Must use in Manual mode
Only works in Manual mode. Unless you are familiar with shooting in manual, this won't be the lens for you. You also need to use a tripod to mount the lens on. Otherwise the weight makes it more difficult to hold steady. As long as you know that, the lens does work great, especially for the price.
