Waterproof Invisible Fence Repair Splice Kit, Pack of 4.

This little device works surprisingly well to splice the wire for an Invisible Fence. Evidently the Invisible Fence is quite sensitive to the quality of the joint and these little splice kits seem to do the job.I installed the radio fence several years ago around my acre yard and have had multiple problems with the joints. At one time I replaced a long section of wire just to reduce the number of joints. These splice kits were not available when I installed the fence. When I discovered them I replaced all of the joints I could find with them and the fence has been working since.My only problem with them is that they seem expensive for what you get; a small plastic tube filled with gel and a small wire terminal. Maybe there is not enough demand to get some competition going!

After stripping 2 wires back maybe 1/3 of an inch, you twist them together a little and then put the wire nut - the orange plastic thing - on top and continue to twist until it is tight. Then, push the wire nut up into the splice, all the way. The splice is filled with a water-repelling jelly that should keep any corrosion away. Then you just clip the slice over the wire by closing the hinge. Easy to work with. and great for fixing little breaks and expanding your system.

These are perfect for repairing the electric fence for my dogs. I followed the directions on the Instructable for finding a break with a radio and a RadioShack part to locate the break. I then spliced a length of wire between the break and used these at the splices to make them waterproof. Worked perfectly. I did tie a knot in the wire close to the wire nut and shoved the wire nut and the knot in this product. That way if the wire was pulled the stress would be on the knot and not the wire nut.

They do what they should, several months after I chopped my wire in several places, the splices are still working, the fence is still live, the joggers are still safe, and the dogs haven't left our acreage.

Be sure to install with splice door down, in vertical position. When it rains, and the hole that you dig to accommodate these fills up with water, this position will keep the capsule from filling up with water.

This is just what we needed to repair 2 breaks in our Invisible Fence wire. The waterproof join covers are essential to keep dirt and water out of the junction. I just wish it were easier to find the breaks!

These were easy to install and reconnect our electric fence. They are waterproof. I have ordered extra to have on hand.

Simple to do yourself and saves about $95 for having to call out a service. Had my fence back up in minutes.
