Great opener and customer service!
Received the opener. Was pleased with the quality and ease of installation. When it came time to program, the LED programming lights did not work, which complicated it. I was able to set the up down limits and the opener worked great and was very quiet. The LED problem did not allow setup of wireless keypad. I contacted customer service. I received a call back. The representative was helpful, appreciative and her solution solved my problem. Some tips for the install. 1. Cut the threads for the back up battery before installation and replace self tapping screw with hex or torx head machine screws. 2. Installing fork connectors on photo sensor wires will make job much easier 3. Placing a mirror on top of your ladder makes viewing the LED programming lights much easier.

Great door opener with some installation issues. Would buy again.
We recently purchased a 25 year old house that came with the original garage door opener. The opener definitely seems older than the house. I had to start opening the garage door the night before so it would be open when I needed to go to work in the morning, and I am surprise I didn't get noise complaints from it. So I went searching for new a new one. The selling points for me were: • It integrated with Google Home (Genie Aladdin through Wi-Fi) • It had the Amazon key deal • I trusted the brand • I could buy it in CA (Apparently, all new garage door openers must come with a battery backup. I don't know why. I'm going to guess something to do with fires and power outages?) Installation...I had a handyman install it for me so I can't claim that it was easy or not. He told me that the physical installation was a breeze. Said it took him only like 2-3 hours total for that part. This contributed to my surprise when I came back home 5 hours later to see him still working on it. The problem with the installation is the programming. There are 3 or 4 buttons on the button of the unit. If you press them down enough you get a very satisfying click that feels like you're engaging it. That's wrong. If you push them down with like 35% of the force needed to get that click, you'll get a much less satisfying mini baby click. That's the spot you need to find. It took us both another couple hours to figure that out. Additionally, my handyman did not really read the instructions but more just installed from experience and looking at the diagrams. So the wall button wasn't working because of the diagram he saw that was confusing. The diagram shows the 4 holes where the wires go into on the side of the opener with 2 cables going into each 1 and 2. So he took the safety sensor cables and joined them with wall opener cables and put them in there. After a few days of looking at it and re-reading the instructions some 20 times I finally saw the blip of text that said he wall opener goes into 3 and 4. Moral.of the story: 1 and 2 are for each of the safety sensors (doesn't matter which). 3 (white) and 4 (red) are for the wall opener. Since that was corrected, this has been the opener of my dreams. I didn't know openers were this quiet and smooth. Haven't tried the Amazon Key deal yet, but once we do, maybe I'll update this review. One gripe I have: for the price, the lightbulbs should have been included. I ended up getting some from Costco that are pretty bright and cheap, and I probably would have replaced them with those anyeay, but still.

Everything I wanted
Okay not everything. It didn’t have a built in camera but reality sank in that I already had a garage camera so why did I need another camera? I moved in to a new house and the Craftsman opener sensors were not working reliably and I only had one opener. My last Opener at my previous residence was the Ryobi GDO. Loved it because it had all kinds of attachments that were truly useful. Didn’t care for the app because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. I was convinced I was going to buy a Chamberlain and found one with everything though it was a bit pricey but there were some little things I didn’t like after reading other’s review about the sensor design and other things. So I looked at Genie. The sensors are well designed. Solid actually, better than any I have ever had historically. The app works really well. The opener is super quiet. It took several days of greasing the garage door rollers (not related to the opener) so I could notice how quiet it actually was. The install was super simple and straightforward but most garage door openers are pretty easy to install, I’ve personally installed maybe 8-10 openers in my life. But they make it simpler (which I didn’t notice) by color coding the parts bags to the installation steps. Nice touch if you never installed a opener before as some parts can look similar. I installed LED bulbs and the backup battery option it came with was pretty easy to install. I really wanted a backup battery. It was an important requirement for me as it has come in handy several times in the past. The motor is plenty strong and the belt drive super quiet. It connected to my wifi very easily. I don’t use the remotes or the keypad because of Homelink and the phone app. I do like the big glowing (red) wall mount button as it’s difficult to miss or accidentally hit a different button. Simple is always better. Did I mention how solid the sensors are? With 4 kids and a dog, solid is good.

Good Product - Recommend it !
I bought 2 of these Genie StealthDrive 7155 motors. I brought them used to save cost because they were as good as new! One of the boxes came with a bent and broken door sensor, so, I reached out to Amazon for replacement parts. While Amazon gave me a discount after purchase, I was told to contact Genie Customer Service directly. Which I did. They said that the invoice from Amazon said that this was "Used" therefore there is no warranty on it therefore the broken parts cannot be replaced. I need to buy it. On their website the part was $45 where as on Amazon it was $20. Other than this, both the openers work great and Homelink works great with 2018 Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y with a Homelink hardware add-on. The Aladdin app, though non-intuitive, works! I was able to integrate it with Google Home. Its WiFi connectivity or changing over to another WiFi is pretty functionally easy. The motor is pretty silent and the belt seems to be durable. Wired connections and Programming was easy without any hiccups. The only other issue is that when using the wireless keypad, there is a 5 second lag for the connection to drop/refresh before keying in again to either open / close the door. In other words, if you keyed the pin and opened the door, within those 5 seconds, you can interrupt opening the door or close it or open it after its been fully open or shut. It needs 5-7 seconds to drop the connection before you need to key in again before using the pad again.

Buy THIS garage door opener!
This is a high quality product and has ultra quiet operation. If you are purchasing this as a replacement, there are less installation steps to perform than for a greenfield installation. I didn't install the code switch on the outside of my garage as the procedure to reset the code is printed on the device.. I'm originally from New York and still have big city paranoia .. LOL Secret feature in this device - there is a proximity sensor in the garage door opener that turn on the light under the following conditions. - The garage door is open for a few minutes - The light goes off. *when you re-enter the garage, it senses your presence and the light turns on. Bonus feature to the many cool features this Genie 7155 has.. BTW - it is ULTRA quiet during operation. Just make sure that you get you garage door balanced to reduce wear on the opener. Excellent buy! -

If you had trouble connecting wirelessly, read this review...
Quick recap of features - very quiet, lots of options (wall control, mobile app, Alexa compatible) all of which work great! Highly recommend this item. We bought this to replace an old (28 years) chain drive genie garage door opener. The reason I include that information is to say that if you already have a genie and some of the parts installed (safety laser, for example), IT IS NOT NECESSARY to install everything from this device (unless you want everything new of course). The instructions overall are good, nicely color coded along with the packages of parts so that you make sure you are installing the right stuff. DON'T open all the bags and mix up the pieces because you will defeat the purpose of the organized instructions. You should be aware that multiple people wrote the instructions, meaning some are easier to follow than others. Trust me - I write procedures for a living. If you are reading some of the negative reviews about how difficult it was to connect wirelessly, or how impossible it is to reach customer service, keep reading! It took us about 8 hours of messing around with the various wireless settings to get this to connect reliably to our home internet. We would get it connected through the app, then after trying to control the door (open or close one time), we got a message saying "unable to determine status," so the back end didn't know whether the door was opened or closed. We had to control through the wall button to close it. Then we would delete the app, reconnect to home internet, and then had the same result. I called Genie customer service first thing on a Monday morning - I was able to get through right away. No waiting on hold for hours as some reviews claim. I spoke to a friendly and helpful person who did as much as she could to help me. I tried her troubleshooting steps (including resetting some of the software on the opener itself using the gray button) with my husband that afternoon, but still couldn't get the connectivity stable. I called customer service back the next day (again, no waiting) and received some additional troubleshooting steps, which were still unsuccessful. I determined that the problem had to be my home internet. THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO READ, SO PAY ATTENTION! We have both a router and a wireless access point. We had the same connectivity issues, whether connected to the router or the WAP. It turns out, BOTH devices needed to have the FIRMWARE upgraded. (If you are unaware, firmware is what makes peripherals run. Sometimes there are new versions released which are necessary to align with related technologies or to fix bugs). Both our router and WAP had new firmware to solve bug fixes which included unexpected connectivity issues. SO after updating the firmware on both devices, I reconnected the Genie garage door opener through the mobile app and VOILA! problem solved. We personally own our router and WAP - so I had to work through the manufacturers website instructions to update the firmware. If you have equipment provided by your ISP, you should call to ask how to upgrade the firmware, then attempt the wireless connection to the Genie before blaming this product and sending it back. I hope this was helpful!

Horrid customer service
I am amending this review after a saga of trying to get Genie to honor a warranty. I have spend hours waiting on the phone and chatting. They won't honor the warranty unless I can get Amazon to show on the invoice that it's new, even though I bought it from Amazon's Genie Store. Amazon doesn't know the condition, of course, and how many items actually print "new" on the invoice? I spent a long time chatting with Amazon, but I understand why they don't have this info. I just had to do this as Genie insisted. Check out online reviews of Genie and you'll find Genie will do anything to get out of warranty work. ---- I bought two units, and they worked well for a month. Now the lights on one won't turn off. I hear a click from the relay, but the lights stay on. I did some reading and found others with the same issue. This is going to be a real pain to take it down for the warranty work. I didn't install it myself. The installer complained it took him twice as long to install it as most openers, but I don't know why. Maybe it's harder, or maybe he wasn't as familiar with it, although that is his primary job. The openers work fine and are quiet. I found the app easy to set up, and the features are really good, especially for scheduling. It is lacking the ability to turn off the lights, which is a big miss. Another issue is the automatic close. I have the doors close after being open for 15 minutes, but that time should reset if someone crosses the light beam as that indicates people are going in and out. That doesn't matter, only the 15 minute timer, but it's easy to disable that, at least. It was a pain getting the opener to sync with my Subaru Outback 2016. I could only get one door synced, which was all I really cared about. I'm not sure what exactly got the sync working, but I spent over an hour working on it. I don't know if what made it tough was the opener or the Subaru or the combination of the two.

Excellent Opener, Easy to Use and Install
This Genie 7155-TKV opener is a high-end Genie opener suitable for anyone using a folding seven-foot high door. It will handle an eight-foot high door with an optional extension kit. It will handle single or double doors. Two doors require two openers. This model includes the ability to check door status and operate the doors remotely via Wi-Fi. It's compatible with Homelink, the most popular vehicle remote integration, and Car2U, if your car uses that. It's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can talk to your openers, too. The opener is very quiet, emitting only a gentle whine while operating. The noise you hear is largely determined by the door itself, so you should make sure your door is lubricated to reduce any squeaks. The rollers will still rattle in the tracks, and the hinges will make some noise, too. They say you can reduce the roller noise by trading out your metal rollers for nylon ones, but I've not tried that. Bottom line, if you're coming from an old Craftsman chain drive as I was, the noise reduction is striking. Included are two keychain-style remotes with visor clips, an outdoor wireless keypad, and a wall controller that also controls the lights, and can disable the opener, which you might want to do when traveling. Installation is relatively easy if you're patient and good with basic tools and a drill. The documentation is very good if not perfect, and there are videos, and even a Bild app you can use to view and identify every part while rotating the images in 3D. Much of the work is done on a ladder. The parts are bagged according to the current installation phase, though a few parts are in separate bags. I noticed that the belt was a little tighter when mounted to the ceiling than when it was initially installed, so you don't have to try too hard to get the belt exactly 1/4-inch above the bottom of the rail initially. Two sensors are installed at the bottom corners of the door, and Genie says you must use their units. The sensors are plastic except for their mounting brackets. You may want to add protection to the units and the exposed wire connections. If you install two openers for two doors, please look deep in the instruction manual to see how to install the transmitters and receiver sensors so there is no interference between doors. I missed this, but installing two Genies contrary to instructions has not caused a problem. [EDIT] It turns out that I left the force test 2x4 between the two inboard sensors, just where it shielded the two door's sensor from each other. When I moved the board, one of the inboard sensor's LED blinked, indicating an error. I relocated the sensors as recommended in the manual - both RED LED transmitters inboard, and the two GREEN LED receivers outboard. All's good now. The sensors are for safety, and I believe the opener will not work without them. I had a problem programming one Genie 7155 because of an apparent misalignment between the plastic programming buttons and the tiny circuit board mounted switches that actually do the work. The plastic buttons are relatively hard to press because they are simply molded parts of the plastic enclosure. I finally had to remove the enclosure and press the circuit board buttons directly. DON'T do this with your fingers, as you can't be sure there isn't harmful voltage somewhere on the board. I used a pencil with a rubber eraser. After I explained the problem, Genie was happy to supply a replacement enclosure which worked correctly. I don't have much respect for this button design, but you may not have this problem. Wiring the units involves running a wire pair from each sensor to the motor unit, and another pair from the wall controller to the motor unit. Genie supplies a very delicate wire and little nail-clamps so you can anchor the wire to walls, ceilings drywall, joists, or what have you. Connecting these wires to the motor unit was annoying, as you have to use a screwdriver to depress the tiny contact lever with one hand, insert one or two wires with the other hand, and hang onto the ladder with the other ... well, you get the idea. It's a good idea to twist the wires together before you insert them into the contact, per the instructions. One reviewer said he spent an hour on this single step. It's not quite that hard, but there must be a better way. Setup involves first setting the up and down limits. It's important to know that holding the button down will move the door continuously. You don't have to move it in multiple small steps until you reach the end. Setting the down limit seems to be critical to whether the door will pass the force test, where you put a two by four under the door, and verify that the door will reverse when it impacts the 1.5 inch high two by four. I did have trouble passing this test, as the door would only reverse on objects somewhat taller than 1-1/2 inches. Try setting the down limit again, and repeat the force test. I missed the straightforward analog height and force adjustments on my old openers. Programming was fairly easy. The two supplied remotes are pre-programmed. The outdoor wireless keypad requires a series of steps to program the opener PIN code, and it worked as expected. It uses two AA cells. You can set a temporary PIN for normally unauthorized persons, and it will be deleted once you use the normal PIN. The keypad can also be programmed to open multiple doors, so you don't need two keypads for two doors. Connecting to vehicles with Homelink was easy after the first couple of tries. Essentially, the process is to train the Homelink in your car to the remote, visit the motor unit to put it into the Setup/Program mode, and return to the car within 30 seconds to press the appropriate button Homelink button a couple of times. Connecting to the internet provides a few conveniences. Wi-Fi setup instructions are presented by the Aladdin Connect App. Follow the instructions, and allow the temporary connection to the specified Wi-Fi. It's important to be patient after connecting to your Wi-Fi, when the unit attempts to connect to the Internet, as this can take a few minutes. A strong Wi-Fi signal seems to be important to reliable connection. Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks are supported. The blue button and the status LEDs for Wi-Fi/Internet setup are under the left bulb shroud as you look toward the garage door. There's a gray button there too. Genie told me it's only used for troubleshooting purposes as instructed by Genie customer service agents. When Wi-Fi is connected and the opener lights off, you'll see a green glow in a dark garage. This means Wi-Fi is connected. The last step is to install the battery backup, which will be easier if you drill small starter holes to assist the two "self tapping" screws which anchor the bottom of the backup unit to the motor enclosure. You'll thank me for this. Genie literature suggests the backup will last up to 50 cycles. The box says it will last "up to 30 cycles after 24 hours loss of power", perhaps because some battery power is drawn by the circuitry while idle. The battery is a sealed lead acid type, I believe, which typically require replacement every 3-4 years. You can use the app to see whether the door is open or closed, and put it up or down. When remotely operated, the opener beeps loudly, while flashing its lights - there's no question that something is about to happen. It takes a few seconds for the signal to traverse the internet. The best feature for me is the ability to apply "Rules" to the door. For example, you can set the door to close if it's open between specific hours. No more leaving the door open accidentally! There's a 30-day log of door operations, which includes the source of the open/close commands. The app is simple and easy to use. I did not try to connect to Amazon or Google Assistant, as I didn't think I would use it. I've read that, for security, you have to tell Alexa a code, so it's just as easy to grab your cell phone and use the app. Bulbs are not provided. Genie heavily promotes using their 60-watt equivalent Genie Garage Bulbs. Some folks using other LED bulbs have reported problems with impaired remote range, caused by unintended radio frequency energy emitted by some LED bulbs. This will depend entirely on the specific LED bulb circuit design. Since I wanted a brighter bulb, I tried using Walmart's top of the line Great Value soft white 100 watt equivalent bulbs - the ones rated at 1600 lumens, 18 year life, and for moist environments. These cost only $3.74 each when purchased in a pack of four, and could easily last the life of the opener. They don't affect the remote range, and with two openers I can really light up my garage. One other advantage of this high-end unit is better warranty coverage, which is lifetime for the belt and motor, 5 years for parts (to include the circuit board, I suppose), and 1 year for accessories like the controllers and remotes. Recommended.

So happy ….
After many years of getting out of the car to open and close the garage manually I’ve decided to install the Genie Stealth garage door opener. Honestly, best money ever spent! I have a double garage wood door that is quite heavy so I decided to go with the stealth and it 1 1/4 hp. My ceilings are quite low and the clearance was literally millimeters for clearance. The install was quite easy and took approximately 2 hours to complete. The instructions on the BILT app was super helpful! Setting the travel limits and programming keypad/remotes was a breeze. Backup battery works well. Also, the Aladdin Connect app is easy to use and works great. I didn’t bother investing in the Genie “quiet light bulbs” and threw in the rough service incandescent bulbs from the dollar store. My only complaint with the unit was the wiring provided….they could have made the black wire a little more easier to identify. Anyhow, I’m just happy that my garage door works great and super quiet!! I’m hoping to have many years of good service with this unit and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a more powerful lift at a decent price.

Buen producto.
