BUY FROM HOME FASHION PRODUCT AT OWN RISK
This is a great product. No doubt about it. However, that is only true if you actually receive the correct product. I ordered one set of two from Coaster Home Furnishings and they worked out great, easy to assemble, looked great, sturdy and a nice finish on ALL surfaces of the product. Then they raised their prices from ~$90 to ~$133 and I chose to get another set, for cheaper, from the seller "Home Fashion Product."They were listed under "more buying choices" for the same item and so I had no doubts. They were supposedly offering the same item for a lower price with no shipping fees. Then the shipment arrived and I opened the package. Completely different finish and lighter wood, not to mention the fact that the seat was only stained on the top surface and the bottom was untreated wood. Not the case with the original product.Asked for my money back and they better give it to me. Will update on that later.UPDATE 01: Customer service was prompt and gracious in responding. Refund is supposedly being processed.UPDATE 02: Refund processed and received. Was pretty quick (within a week). I was just late in updating this review.UPDATE 03: After the mess with Home Fashion Product, I bought the 2nd set off Coaster Home Furnishings (Amazon fulfilled) for $110 (incl tax), price dropped to $95 (incl tax) within a week. Asked for a refund for the difference, is being processed. Amazon is kind of nice that way.

And on the seventh day there were stools...
Well... Not exactly fit for the gods, but nice enough. They are certainly mass produced from Malaysia. Tropical hardwood with a nice finish. Three of the four stools went together well enough. Not piano material for sure. Lots of gaps and minor tweaking. Had to re-tighten all screws already installed in the seat. Two screws were stripped out and needed to be replaced with ones with larger diameter threads that I had around. The fourth seat had a crack in the support that showed itself to be major as I put the screw in. Bummer... but fixed with wood glue and clamped it. They all wobble a little. Be sure to use wood glue on all steps when assembling. Lube the screws with soap so they don't split the wood. For the price they are worth it. Just use your common sense and approach the project with some finesse. It's not a 2x4 barn framing project. Tropical hardwoods are notorious to split. All said and done they are comfortable and for $40/stool its totally worth it. They look nice around our granite peninsula and tuck under it seamlessly without being a toe stubber.

Heavy duty stools
The first set of stools I received were broken. The second set of stools were fine. These are solid and sturdy. There are big men in our family so the 300 lbs weight capacity is great. It's a bit hard to screw in the heavy duty bolts with the included allen wrench so use a drill instead. I'm very satisfied with these stools.

Piece of crap...
After assembling, a cross beam cracked when connecting to the legs. The good chair was used twice and the second time, it broke apart and hurt the person sitting on it. These chairs are not only crappy, they are dangerous to use...

These Are Good Quality
We purchased two of these for use in our kitchen. They have been in service for several years now. Our daughter saw them and liked them, so we bought a set of two for her. Her two young boys are using them daily and they have held up perfectly. These are solid stools.

Can't beat the price
Bottom line, the old saying of "you get what you pay for" applies here but only to a certain extent. Is this top of the line hand made furniture that's going to last a lifetime? NoIs this bottom bargain pre-manufactured Ikea furniture that will collapse to dust should you need to ever take it apart and reassemble? NoWell what is it then? It's right in the middle. It's not top grade custom made furniture but then again, if that's what you're expecting for this price, you're either a woodworking maestro at which point I ask why are even buying furniture, just make it yourself. But it's also not super cheap that it will feel like the second you sit on it, it might collapse on itself.Bottom line: For the price, i would buy it again if i needed to. And it doesn't hurt that the stain exactly matches my Coaster dining room table as well so that's a nice personal touch.

Wrong order but all worked out
Ordered the Walnut but received the Oak. Oak is a very odd orange, very bright, not like your cabinets. So I contacted the company and they responded promptly and apologised. Sent out the walnut (the walnut is dark walnut btw) right away and sent me a return label for fed ex ground. Quality is excellent, very sturdy. The included hex wrench will strip (terrible soft quality) but I had another so no issue. Screws very strong and difficult to screw (which is good because the chairs are sturdy) so make sure you have a good hex driver or do what I do and clamp a pair of Vice Grips onto the L part of hex wrench to give you torque. Enjoy these, great strong quality.
