I used to spend at least $75 at a salon to get my hair colored once a month. I decided to try this product but didn't really think it would work because I had heard henna doesn't cover gray hair. To my surprise it came out the exact same color as when I went to the salon! Not only that but I can stretch one box to cover two months. And my hair feels better. Like richer or something. It's a good feeling!

really unhappy, this product no different then regular henna, expect its two bags verse one, would of been cheaper to purchase two boxes verse cover gray for same product just more of it, nasty way to sell same product, if i didnt like the product so much i would be switching to some other brand for that marketing pull of legg

I love the product. The two stars are for the Amazon pricing. They are selling the henna as a two count, but you do not get two boxes. They count the packages in the box as a two count, but for the cover the grey treatment, you need both packages. For regular (not cover the grey LM henna)4 oz retails in brick and mortar stores for about $6. Amazon sold me 7 oz (2 3.5 oz packages in one box) for $22. I thought I was getting2 boxes (14 oz) for the price. And I thought it was a different mixture of hennas than the regular red. I returned it becase of the elevated cost and because I discovered that the cover the grey process for red consists in two applications of the same red henna (Lawsonia inermis). Personally, find it covers my grey better to add some dark brown (indigofera tinctoria with Lawsonia inermis) to the first application. I find the new instructions (for both cover the grey and regular red) to let it cure for 1-3 hours before applying to be useful. It makes for a much smoother product.

Takes about 4 hours to color, but my hair grow slowly and color lasts 3-4 months.

I am 50. I have always had television commercial quality hair. Well it is true. This great head of hair is largely genetic but also a result of proper hair care - washing only twice a week if I can get away with it and the least amount of product and heat possible. But now, my hair is turning white. In and of itself this does not bother me, but it is not turning white evenly. Right at the top of my forehead, about the spot where I would grow horns if that were possible, I have white streaks like The Bride of Frankenstein and the rest of my hair is a mix of reddish color, and brown color and white color. UGH!Being nagged by my mother about my hair and not wanting to start a new life of coloring my hair, I thought I would try the Henna. After much and much research I tried White Mountain. It was an arduous and messy process. Give yourself a whole day and if you are lucky enough to live in a warm climate all the better as this is best done outside. I live in warm climate.Now it is six months past the time I used this product and my hair still shines like glass and still has the natural curl and texture and the color is fantastic, a warm reddish brown. Instead of looking like 50 year old hair it looks like 20 year old hair. With one exception. Those white streaks, those streaks came out bright red. UGH. It would have better to just let it go white naturally, but how long will that take. I am going to have to try another approach.However, what you need to know is that if you have naturally and evenly graying hair, the normal mix of salt and pepper, then I think this is a terrific product. I am truly stunned at the color and texture of my hair 6 months later. Now the new growth, I may have to use two products for my two completely separate hair tones.

This product works, but is very messy! I am allergic to the chemicals in regular hair dye, so this is a God-send. I recommend it to anyone who does not want to hurt the environment or be exposed to the chemicals in regular dye. But do be aware that it makes one heck of a mess...
