Revlon Colorstay Aquatm Mineral Finishing Powder (Project Mermaid), Translucent Light, 0.35 Ounce

I actually really like this powder. I'm extremely pale and most powders tend to look chalky and orange on me (even when they say they're translucent), but this one never did! I love the damp cooling sensation it provides as well. I found that it didn't further dry out my already dry skin, so that's awesome.There is one thing you should know about this product though - there is a difference between finishing powder and setting powder. This product is a finishing powder. Setting powder is exactly what it sounds like; it sets your makeup. Finishing powder is meant to blur lines as well as pores and give you a soft matte look. Some finishing powders provide a radiant glow instead of a super matte look (example being the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders), color correct (like the NYX one and the Besame lavender powder).This powder does exactly that. It really won't extend the wear of your makeup a whole lot, so if that's what you're after, you may not get your desired result with this product. Powders will say what they're for on the packaging most of the time. Pay attention to that for sure so you get what you're after! With all that in mind, this is an excellent drugstore-type makeup product. Another reviewer mentioned that it is discontinued, which is really sad considering this is one of Revlon's best products, in my opinion.Disclaimer: There isn't one. I am always unsure about trying new cosmetics-never know if they will work or not, am I right?! I am extra cautious purchasing new makeups due to the extreme changes menopause has so 'graciously' given my skin. (bleh!) Where I used to have flawless, oil-free skin on my face, it is now easily irritated, dry on the cheeks & oily on forehead & chin-it's a red hot mess. I read several reviews on this Revlon Aqua stuff & decided to try it. Omg, I LOVE IT!! It feels SO smooth going on your face-a cool, almost watery feel! It didn't overly-dry my face, didn't make it oily or greasy looking & there is NO shine! (I'm not a fan of shiny face stuff, I prefer matte) It's VERY lightweight, lasts for quite awhile & wow, does my skin feel GREAT! Not just immediately after application, either-at the end of the day, my face is STILL shine-free, smooth & looks simply radiant. I don't think I will EVER get a different face powder again-this is PERFECT!!**I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone & everyone who would listen...GREAT product!!!!!!!

I was sent the wrong item, and when I wrote the seller, they said they'd pay to ship it back and send me a replacement. When the label was (i presume) lost in the mail and I complained, they promptly refunded me for the cost of the item and original shipping cost.In the end, I didn't receive this color (or lack or color), but I did try it out to see how it compared to the reviews. Unlike other, I thought the brush was well suited to the product. It is not meant to be dusted on, with the brush, it is pushed into your skin and doesn't catch in your peach fuzz and stay visible, which was the reason I ordered the translucent, but honestly, I don't think a well matched tinted powder would show either - unlike a typical dry powder. It does feel wet going on, but once it's on the effect goes away. If you don't like it, it's short lived. The benefit I see over my go-to translucent hi-def powder is that this will set without taking away as much of the dewy look.

I'm on the fence with this. I love the coverage. However the smell is unpleasant and it feels wet when u apply and makes me a little more oily that usual around my t-zone. Nice matching, and nice coverage though.

The product itself is great, though a bit messy. That goes for most loose powders though. Also, the powder doesn't clump much at all like a lot of powder products I've used (finishing powders, blushes, bronzers, etc.)When you put it on, it feels wet and cool, but it's definitely dry to the touch. It might take some getting used to for some. I like it because regular powders make me feel kind of cakey.It doesn't have much coverage, but it's really not supposed to. It's just meant to set your makeup so it doesn't crease so badly or run all over the place, which is what it does. It also doesn't appear to have any shimmer like some Revlon products do.However, I absolutely hate the brush it comes with. It's about one square inch and maybe 1/3 inch thick. It's flat kind of like a foundation brush, and it's retractable. I think it's far too stiff to be used to apply powder, and far too small to be used for powder all over the face. The shape also isn't convenient for its purpose. Also, because it's retractable, if you press very hard with it, the brush goes back into its casing. It's synthetic, so you can't really soften it that much. My suggestion is that you use your own brush to apply it, like maybe a kabuki or blush brush, or whatever you like to apply powder with. Not too big, though, since that will make the powder even messier. Maybe about 1 1/2 inch diameter for the bristles.Other than the brush and slight mess, though, I love it.

I love using this product as a base before applying eyeliner and mascara. Having the hydrating coconut helps the eyelashes stay curled before applying mascara. I’ve also noticed my eyelashes don’t fall out as easily. It is the only thing I like to use on my eyelids and lashes. Wish more stores carried it but never find it. Because I like using the transparent/light color I always have to order it through Amazon. I love all the Colorstay products and this one especially is hard to beat. One of my top favorites! If you have sparse lashes here’s a great tip that was given to me: use this before mascara and use some vasoline on the lashes before applying the powder) makes the lashes look much longer and full.
