Good speaker
This little speaker is good quality for the price. Made my laptop sound far better, works fine with my desktop as well. It's surprisingly good for what it is. It suits my basic sound needs, like videos, movies, online meetings, music played at low-moderate volume. There've only been a couple times where I couldn't get the sound to go up as high as I'd like. Once in a while there's a little distortion at high volumes, but not much. The clip is useful, and the compact design is space-efficient. It's lasted several months so far, hopefully will keep going.

Good value for the price: MUCH better than factory laptop speakers
I really give this 4+ stars the sound quality is great for the price, quality & everything else about this item is superior.I bought this to replace GoGroove SonaVERSE laptop speaker (red) that I also bought through Amazon. That one was was no longer recognized by my operating system but this one should not encounter that issue since it only uses the USB connection for power. There is second cord that connects to your earphone jack that conducts the sound. The clip that attaches to your laptop though slightly cumbersome to open, is completely solid attaching securely and does not weigh down the lid so much as to force it to close at all.The sound control knob on the device is nicely placed and responsive. I find it a welcome addition to have many options to adjust the volume. As mentioned above the sound is not superior quality maybe a touch tiny but they are a VAST improvement to the horrible factory speakers in stalled in my HP laptop that even boasts to have beats audio. If I were only using this for watching videos and movies I would give this item 5 star rating. It boast the sound loud enough so I can use my laptop as a TV in the kitchen while washing dishes with the water running. But for music it lacks dynamics. The left right speaker separation is surprising good for such a small unit.I would recommend item. It is a good value for the money (under $20) and performs great.

Great little addition to your cheapie netbook, no power necessary
I have a cheap little insperion netbook with tiny, tinny, barely audible speakers. These little babies clip right on to the top of the netbook and produce a respectable (not loud, but does the trick) sound WITHOUT a separate power source. They're USB powered, which was the biggest selling point for me. I didn't want to compromise the uber-portability of a wee little laptop by plugging in a cumbersome cord or clumsily dragging along detached speakers. It doesn't seem to make a dramatic difference in the battery life, but I'm sure there's some impact. There's a power switch, so if you don't need sound, you can turn them off and not take power without having to detach/unplug them. The sound isn't going to blow anyone away, but it's perfect to use outside or in the kitchen (plenty audible over the fan/fridge/dehumidifier), or around the house. Now I can watch a netflix movie or hulu show or listen to pandora or npr anywhere in the house without any trouble. And the price was dandy. Yay!

Everything was great, until I played Pantera - Cemetery Gates
I guess I'm spoiled after having a logitech Z205. One USB cable for audio and power, and an extremely, amazingly clean sound, with very nice mids, only missing the lower octaves. Unfortunately after multiple times with the Z205 sliding off the back of my laptop and bending the USB connector, it eventually failed to connect with a computer. This Cyber Acoustics wannabe version of the same falls short in a few ways. The dual (USB power, and aux audio) cables are a cluttered mess to leave plugged into a laptop. When playing the above mentioned song, this speaker became a rattle fest, with the drivers almost sounding blown at times. This song has alot of upper bass, and this speaker doesn't handle it very well. I'm pretty sure it's either a loose mounted driver, or maybe the metal cover rattling, but it's definitely there, and definitely annoying. Either way, it still sounds better than the built-in laptop speakers in my Dell Lattitude E6530. I'm disappointed, though, that I can't get a similar "clean sound" that I had with my (now horribly overpriced) Logitech Z205. I paid 30 bucks new and now theyre as much as 220 here on Amazon.

Fantastic Sound and Easy to Use!
I love this new speaker, so happy I decided to get this one. It clips right onto the top of the laptop so it is out of the way and the sound it wonderfully balanced! The one I had before was the type that had to be set down somewhere, and when in bed watching things you had to put it on the side of the laptop. It would always slide off and fall down and the sound was not balanced.I think if you need a speaker because you can't hear the laptop's speaker well enough, then this is the speaker to definitely buy! The sound is fantastic and it is so convenient to use too!Great price quick 2 day delivery too! I paid a lot less for the one I had before and it stopped working after 4 months! I paid more for this one, but well worth it; better sound, better placement, shows you get what you pay for! I would say buy this speaker you won't be disappointed at all!

Lousy Speaker!
This is the second time I have ordered this speaker. I thought the first Cyber Acoustics USB Powered Speaker I ordered was terrible but after many months of being without a speaker for my Mac laptop, I decided to give this speaker another try. Silly me! The second speaker is as terrible as the first one I ordered before, and trashed. The speaker starts out loud and clear. After a couple of weeks, even when I haven't been turning the volume up loud but on a medium volume, the speaker begins to fade in volume and is no better than my internal laptop speaker. The speaker cuts out often or has static. I liked the fact I could move around a room or to other rooms with it attached to my laptop, but it just loses all power. This product is a waste of money, and soon after purchasing ends up being trashed and just more plastic filling up a landfill. It's a ripoff!
