Latex Concrete Habitat

Informative,and interesting.
I'm interested in building roofs that I can use to collect H2O from, as well as being durable, and economical to build. I live in Oklahoma, and it's my opinion that in the future (and maybe even now in some areas) water, and drinking water, and it's cost and availability ,may be an issue. Not to mention the number of roofs that I've had destroyed by hail!I like the projected longevity of the roofs built by this process (50 years) as well as the ease of construction, not to mention the cost. I'm currently building a number of cabins that could be considered "green construction" not because I'm a tree huger, but because it only makes sense. To incorporate (where possible) things like passive solar, well insulated or high thermal mass walls (where possible) when it really doesn't take much extra time,or money to do so is what I'm doing. The book has a lot of load calculations, and math that would be useful for engineering a structure. Personally I was just interested in how to make and apply the product and what the applications needed to be.A good informative publication, that is certainly worth the money.

Thinking of making a concrete roof? Buy this book!
This is THE book on latex concrete, I bought it twice, the diagrams were not clear enough on the Kindle! It gets a little technical sometimes, but that's the nature of the beast, and you really don't need the calculations if you simply use the proportions as given.Pretty much everything you need is in here, though, in the putting on of my concrete roof, I have referenced Water Storage: Tanks, Cisterns, Aquifers, and Ponds for Domestic Supply, Fire and Emergency Use--Includes How to Make Ferrocement Water Tanks quite a lot as well.I highly recommend both books.

Really good idea, the math is a little over my head, but I've made a bunch of stuff using this concept.

Useful
A useful alternative technology with reasonable descriptions on how-to. I found the illustrations rather too rudimentary to be useful and would prefer to have seen photographs or more descriptive models. For a simple technology there's a lot of seemingly complex engineering data that might have been edited for easier understanding. But provided the basics - latex, cement, and a draping membrane are available this process could be used to create effective cover quickly.

Complexity
Concrete needs to be complex to be strong...Fascinating exploration of an idea...Cool topography...Interesting shape...recipes inside are useful!

Great Info and very versatile!
Haven't even read the entire book yet and still getting very useful information I'm using that can applyto many different uses of these products.

Ausgedruckte Druckerpapierseiten
