This Heron weathervane is well made, lots of detail. Beautiful and easy to attach. I purchased this to put on top of my well shed roof. If it hadn't been so large, I might have kept it inside the house as a piece of art. I would definitely purchase this again. The packaging was very good and it shipped within two weeks.

Stumbled across this on Amazon after looking at hundreds of other weathervanes. Arrived in an atrocious cardboard box but everything was intact. Heavy duty, high quality metal. Heron is very detailed and much more rustic looking than all the other heron weathervanes on the market. Have not installed it yet. Seems to spin fine. Will post another review once it's installed (on top of a cupola). Hopefully the shaft size matches the opening in the cupola. Actual measurements are:: 24" tall from bottom of angled bracket to top of wings (lowest point as shaft is somewhat adjustable in height), 21.5" from tip of bill to end of feet, 24" wingspan. 2" x 3.5" instruction card is useless. Absolutely recommend it as of right now. Also many other really nice rustic weathervanes from this seller available on Amazon.

Absolutely beautiful.. And great packaging

First of all the metal quality and workmanship of the weathervane is indeed excellent and appears better than what you would expect to receive for the cost from any of the other mass produced weathervane manufacturers. Expect it to last longer and remain attractive for a longer period of time given the thickness of the metal and its seeming quality. Main disappointment is first with the actual size of the heron figure which seems smaller than what I was expecting based on the pictures depicted on Amazon. More significant, for me, is the poorly done paint job and faux copper patina of the weathervane. There is simply no way anyone would ever confuse this with actual copper. The green stippling and pattern made looks terribly fake and the only saving grace is that most folks who place this on a roof will be far enough away to barely notice this. For me it almost caused me to return this back to Amazon except for the hassle of repackaging it as it also did come VERY well packaged and protected with a very large amount of bubble wrap. Plan to repaint it, probably with exterior quality polished copper spray paint, to make it look more up to my standards.

The quality of this Weather Vane, is fabulous. Extremely pleased.

I bought this weathervane because it looks nice in the pictures. You can't tell what it is from a distance when it is on a roof, it is horizontal so it doesn't catch the wind, the feathers on the arrow are too small to catch the wind and the shaft is too big in diameter (3/4") to spin freely. It may look nice inside as a conversation piece.

Suggest you check the dimensions. It was too small for our house and would have looked puny. All else was ok but we had to return.

Well-made. Color is just as pictured. Should weather nicely. Recommend!
