Some good advice
This should be read by law students and new attorneys who never been in a law office. Some of the advice seem too obvious but other are practical. Fun and easy read.

Perfect for new associates in my firm
I am a lawyer with a mid-size law firm and have been looking for a book to give to new associates and interns. The search is over! This book gives practical information about practicing law that you don't learn from a textbook in law school. It is positive without being unrealistic about the demands of a law practice. I highly recommend this book.

great value for associates
I am a third year associate and just relocated to a different firm. I was in search of a book generally outlining some of the practical advice of practicing law. .. not all the law school substantive stuff. I really wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the good practice foundations from my first job. While 90 percent of this book is common sense, the other 10 percent is solid insight into the daily practice of law. The chapters are short and the writing is very easy to read, even after a long day. This might not be the perfect book, but there is a substantial amount of value in the 10 percent. ..and the other 90 is a great refresher for the things you might forget.

This book was written with both candor and humor, and is a great resource for attorneys and lay-people alike. Easy to read, and filled with pertinent information for new attorneys just starting out and more experienced lawyers who may need a review on issues they don't deal with everyday. It is a must-have for anyone working in the legal arena!
