Best bang for your buck $ Tried and True!
I am waiting for this to arrive still but I am a repeat customer multiple times over. Each time I order I get exactly what I was hoping for. A solid product perfect for making my own potting mix for garden veggies! VERY LARGE BAG! A good price too compared to buying it in smaller quantities from big box stores. All I can say is get it if you need it. If youre here, look no further, THIS IS THE ONE!

Consistent Quality Perlite at a Great Price
For a a medium-coarse perlite, this is a great product at a very fair price point (especially for 4 c.u. feet). I am a big fan of using perlite in my planting mixes as it does a great job with soil areation and helps with water retention as well. As I mentioned, this is medium-coarse grade perlite which I use in my planting mixes for herbs and veggies, potted tropical plants, etc. I typically use about 1/3 of perlite to my mix (with the other 2/3 being a standard soil mix or moistened peat moss). You can increase or decrease the amount of perlite depending on what you are planting. For example, I use at least 50% for succulents. The last point is regarding dust. Yes, there is perlite dust in this big bag; however, it is no worse than any other supplier that I have used; it's actually a bit BETTER! When pouring and mixing, I do recommend wearing a mask, just you don't breathe in the dust. Another simple recommendation if you don't want to mess with a mask, is to spray the portion of perlite you are going to use with water and it does a great job settling the dust. Again, this is a great product and a very good value for the amount you get with free shipping!!! Happy Growing!

Must Have For Cactus
For a medium-coarse perlite, this product is an excellent value for money, especially considering its size (4 cubic feet). I am particularly fond of using perlite in my planting mixes, as it effectively improves soil aeration and enhances water retention. As mentioned, this is a medium-coarse grade perlite, which I utilize in my planting mixes for herbs, vegetables, potted tropical plants, and other similar items. Typically, I incorporate approximately one-third of perlite to my mix, with the remaining two-thirds consisting of a standard soil mix or moistened peat moss. The amount of perlite can be adjusted based on the specific plants being grown. For instance, I use at least 50% perlite when planting succulents. Regarding dust, it is true that this product contains perlite dust. However, it is comparable to the dust produced by other suppliers I have used and, in fact, may even be slightly superior. When pouring and mixing the perlite, I recommend wearing a mask to avoid inhaling the dust. Alternatively, if you prefer not to use a mask, you can spray the portion of perlite you intend to use with water, which effectively settles the dust. Overall, this product is highly recommended and offers excellent value for the quantity included with free shipping. Happy growing!

Exactly what I was looking for, but subsequent order was not the same.
I grow almost all of our vegetables and herbs under LED lights in our large basement. Although I do use a good quality potting soil for my plants, I amend it to improve water retention and drainage and also add organic matter such as sphagnum peat moss and coco coir. In the past, I have bought perlite that had so much powder and tiny pieces in it, it would not have helped at all for drainage, which is the purpose of using perlite. Since I grow quite a few plants in pots, having to buy multiple 8 quart bags of anything doesn't do much for me. In the past I have bought course vermiculite in this brand and have been very happy with it, so I decided to try the course perlite from them. This perlite is perfect for my purposes and for the quantities I use. The pieces are not rock sized nor are the tiny pieces that would not help at all with drainage. The sizes of the pieces do vary, but none are too large or too small. There is some dust when I pour it into a bucket, but that is to be expected with perlite. Personally, I feel this is the best quality perlite I have bought to-date. The variety of sizes in it are perfect for providing excellent drainage. I use vermiculite to maintain an even moisture in the soil, and also coco coir and sphagnum peat moss to maintain even moisture and to provide organic material. By using these additives in my potting soil, many of my plants grown indoors are 4-7 years old and are still healthy and producing. The pictures included are all vegetables and herbs grown in my basement garden. UPDATE 01/13/24: I have ordered and used a few bags of this "coarse" perlite. The last bag I received the pieces were much smaller than previous bags. I will still use this bag, but I am not pleased that the quality of this product is not consistent. I have reduced my star rating by 1 star because of the inconsistency in this product. I hope this review was helpful for you.
