Tamiya 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt - Razorback

This model kit of the P-47D Thunderbolt is by far one of the nicest kits that Tamiya has made.

I got this model as something to work on while at home during the virus. This was my first model in 20 years as I have not done one since childhood, and was a great experience. Already looking for my next Tamiya model. The parts were very detailed and fit well. No warping or gaps, and instructions were easy to follow. If you're new to model making or just getting back to it like I am, I would strongly recommend looking up articles or youtube guides on how to do these types of kits to get the most out of it.

I really enjoyed this kit. Some of the decals were on the harder side

This is a very nice kit. All parts fit extremely well and have a high quality plastic feel. The details in this kit are top notch also. Make sure you have micro sol for the decals. The Indian chief head needed a lot to conform. I liked that it was easy enough to build with the landing gear up as I wanted to hang the ship for display.

Parts are very well cast.!I only had to file very few pieces just a little . Instructions can be a bit confusing and you really need to study them closely. I'm still working on the build with small departures to install

The Tamiya P-47D model is one of the best fitting kits I have ever had. Only minor touchups were necessary. It has been a joy to construct, and I just ordered another one.

Outstanding aircraft model. One of the best, if not the best, Tamiya models in this scale size. Best P-47 model out there. Certainly the best in this price range. Upon opening the package, I instantly ordered another. Excellent cockpit detail. Lots of armaments and options. The only drawback is the decals. As good as Tamiya models are, you would think that they would make better decals, or contract with Cartograph.
