This Fist still has the impact of a Sledgehammer.
My Personal favorite Bruce Lee film 'Fist of Fury' ( 1972) is given the Blu Ray treatment and Medium Rare have done a great job.The picture is much improved since the Hong Kong Legends excellent platinum edition. What was really exciting is that Medium rare have also rectified the sound mix problems that were on the English dub in the Hong Kong Legends Platinum DVD.Restored is the missing line of dialogue spoken by Nora Miao to Bruce Lee in the graveyard scene. On that disc all you saw was her lips moving. The line is- for you trivia fans- " and now will you tell me about your plans" Also corrected is the missing ( on English dub) blood curdling scream that Bruce unleashes at the climax of the film. On the HK legends all you heard was the 'Fist Of Fury' theme song sung by Mike Remidios. Also for those who prefer listening to the English dub. The voice of the villain Petrov is by a member of the Golden Harvest dubbing team. In all other dubs Petrov's voice is dubbed by Bruce Lee himself doing a mean Russian accent. The HK Legends Disc for some odd reason inserted this onto the old English dub probably thinking it would please the fans. Also you not only still get the choice of the Cantonese and Mandarin dubs but also a hybrid American dub too. Foley effects sound great and are very dramatic in the amazing hard hitting fight scenes. The extras are the same featured on the Hong Kong legends disc and the menu is nicely presented while backed by the famous Joseph Koo theme tune. There is also the addition of a 24 page booklet (with reversible art work) which gives background into the true story that ' Fist Of Fury' is based on. This was the first Bruce Lee film I ever saw at the cinema and its impact has never lessened. Bruce Lees portrayal of Chen Zhen is a of a man tipped over the edge by his Kung Fu masters death and he goes insane. The fights therefore are a reflection of his insane ferociousness and Bruce Lee is absolutely terrifying to behold as he screams, punches and kicks his way to gain his revenge. And its all uncut and uncensored.

A brilliant film restoration!
Who would have known that one of Bruce Lee's greatest cinematic achievements could sound and, especially, look as good as it does in this recent DVD edition? Considering that this movie, much in the same way as the other early martial arts pictures that Lee made for Golden Harvest, was typically shot on a relatively low budget, with poor to average film stock being used, this restored version is nothing short of miraculous. The Fortune Star print makes it look like it was shot a few months ago, as it looks as clear as it probably never was when it first came out in March of 1972. The colour balance, the picture resolution and the correct aspect ratio are rendered so perfectly that you start noticing small details that were always missed thus far. I will give you an example: in the major fight scene where Bruce's character faces all the Japanese students in their dojo, while he's holding the famed nunchaku ready to strike his opponents yet again, there's a very tight close-up of Lee's face. Here you can clearly see the little veins in the eyes, which were fuzzy in the previous DVD edition. This is truly a classic brought back to its full glory that had previously faded, and enhances all the great qualities it possesses, namely the fact that this turned out to be one of the most dynamic, intense and spectacular performances that Bruce Lee has forever recorded on celluloid. Don't miss this DVD, you won't regret it!

The Fist Reborn
Bruce Lee's Hong Kong Epic Fist Of Fury Finally Comes To Blu-ray. released as The Chinese Connection in Hong Kong i consider This To be The best of Bruce's relativly short Hong Kong film career. Fist Takes us right back To The china of 1908 as a martial arts master is out To avenge The murder of His Master. Of course been a Bruce Lee movie you can expect plenty of High kicking action and There are plenty. I olso like Fist Of Fury because it's The only Time we ever get To see Bruce in a love scene be it only a couple of pecks on The Neck and lips of His female co star but it's such a rare and Tender scene and a real shame he Never got more in His movies. other Than That i can't really add anymore Than what other reviewers Have well covered better Than me. Except To say it's The legend That was Bruce Lee The movies High Definition Transfer is excellent just look at The colours on Bruce's Bronzed body During The fight scenes. The Disc set olso comes with a DVD of The movie but i Tell you you Won't really need it. Extras are plenty To satisfy The most ardent fan Audio Commentary with Hong Kong movie critic Mike Leeder retrospectives on The making of The movie interviews and an excellent 24 page booklet on The movies History. Reversible art Dust jacket sleeves rounds off a pretty Decent package of This classic. This one for me was always Going To be five stars.

Fist of Fury Bruce Lee what a fantastic film
I absolutely love Bruce Lee. What a fantastically made film. I've never seen this film before. So ahead of its time. I love watching Bruce in action but the film had a very strong meaning and that made it a very powerful film to watch. Shame he died so early in life he had so much more to give.KayK - Super fan of Bruce Lee

Good action, shame about the acting
Chinese action drama from the early 70's, Bruce Lee is on form when it comes to his martial arts prowess in Jeet Kune Do. However the acting is somewhat lacking and unfortunately the Hong Kong made films that preceeded Enter the Dragon sadly do not meet the calibre of his ultimate swansong. Good in terms of seeing more of the masters work before his early demise, but regrettably not a great movie.
