I bought these Soft Shackles to add to the gear I always have in my truck for emergencies.These are the kind of things you need in your Emergency Kit for your truck whether you off road or not. Yes, you may never have to use them; but they will more than pay for themselves in piece of mind even if never used. Soft Shackles are SO much safer to use than common metal shackles, because if they should be overloaded and break they are less of a killer flying missile than the metal kind. Use them to secure a tow strap, or rescue strap, to the tow points on your vehicle, or to fasten two straps together. The abrasion-resistant reflective sleeves are an added bonus. Look for online videos showing the proper way to use soft shackles, and be safe!

I looked at almost a dozen different soft shackles before deciding on these. I love the full length abrasion sleeve, and the fact that I got "upgraded" in capacity-to-price considering what all my local 4x4 stores were asking for their soft shackles (various manufacturers). Haven't had a reason to USE them yet, and hopefully never will, but definitely rounded out my off-road "Oh Shiznit!" bag nicely! I'm entirely close-loop set up, and these are a lot lighter than correspondingly rated forged steel shackles!

I used these to connect a 30'x4" Erickson tow strap to my truck and another truck. They easily held up to pulling an 8,500lb truck that was stuck on a hill in DEEP snow. I have no doubt that they'll stand up to the test of time. Even if they eventually wear out, I'll buy them again.
