Fits and works perfectly

Eliminated the need for the vent stack through the roof. Since my roof leaked at the vent stack I decided to cut stack down to attic level and have the roofers re-roof and delete stack exposure. Works perfectly.

Ease of installation

The product is amazing it has a rubber gasket attached to it that fits over a 3-inch pipe or slides into a 4-inch pipe. I had a different brand put on last year when there was a lot of pressure it released a gas smell. And the other one went bad and I could not get the gas smell out of my basement that's sewer gas. I put this on yesterday came down this morning to the basement it smells fresh and clean with no sewer gas. I am excited to have this product well worth the money. I have a customer who was complaining about the "aroma" from their main drain fresh air vent that was under their deck. I installed a catch basin (in plenty of gravel for drainage) around the vent pipe and installed this AAV inside the basin so it is protected from anything above by the basin grate. Problem solved. No more fumes and the system vents perfectly. Note that this unit needs a UV protection cap for exterior installation.

This is an excellent solution for a bathroom that is away from the main stack. Releases vacuum which allows flow of water out of sink, shower and toilet. An recent innovation for US that comes from Europe.

The concept is old, but not approved by code until relatively recently at least in Connecticut. So we were having a new roof put on, and I wanted no the pipes going through the roof - to accomplish this you install Air Admittance Valves. The only problem the code says at least one vent must vent to the outside unless an alternative engineering solution is used. That's where you use an Odorhog filter. Note that the photo is rotated 90 degrees (don't know why), the filter must be vertical.

This is the second one I have installed, and it doesn't work. I wish they did as I don't want to poke another hole in my roof, but it's a crappy solution to venting. This particular model doesn't work as it should at least for me. I had a master plumber tell me during our house construction that Studer valves might work for a short time, but they all fail. I really should have listened more as I think he's right. Just run the vent up and out and be done with vent problems. You can tell if you have a venting problem if your toilet "burps" after flushing.
