Mr. TuffyUltra Lite Bicycle Tire Liner, Silver 26 x 1.5-1.9

I've installed these on four of the family bicycles and am impressed by the results. Now, to be honest, I didn't get a lot of flats previously. But any flat is a P.I.T.A. when you're looking to finish your ride or pull out your bike to discover a tire went flat from sharp glass or metal pin overnight.Thus far, I've installed onto my wife's hybrid using 700x35 Schwalbe's, an old Raleigh X-bike using 26x2" specialized, another old Nishiki Hybrid running panaracer 26x2.1" and my roadie running Continental Ultra-Sport 700x25's.These work very well for preventing common causes of flats such as glass shards, wire scraps, etc. But they won't prevent ALL flats. For best results, inspect all the tires for any debris on the inside, use a fabric based rim liner and ensuring the tubes have no issues.They ARE a bit of a challenge to install. Personally, I:1. Install the tube into the tire with just a little air.2. Install one side of the tire/tube combo onto the rim.3. Slide the liner between the tube and tire with the wheel lying flat (not upright)4. Start the liner on the opposite side of the tube valve and work around until it overlaps.5. Install the second side of the tire onto the rim and inflate with a little more air and check the seal.6. Fill the tire to the recommended pressure and double check it's seated properly all around.After the installation I haven't experienced flats from road debris.

I have used these for years. They are an additional quality liner that helps prevent flat tires.Last week I road off the road and went over patches of goat head stickers. I got probably 10-15 goat heads on each tire.I stopped and pulled them all out before riding on the road again. I was able to ride home and the next day one of my tires was flat. A check of the tire and tube showed the goat head penetrated on the side of the tire where there was no liner. Anyway had I not had these, I would have gotten two flat tires for sure.Great product that helps prevent flats; I highly recommend!

-> Tires are more and more offered (when available) as solidly built (K-shield…) but an extra layer does not hurt.(+)EASY to install, even for a beginner. WELL-DESIGNED in 2 layers integrated, one in colored PVC (FLEXIBLE, with NON-CUTTING or brittle edges like some competitive products) and another seeming more rubber in the center, it seems to ensure that the product stays in place while ensuring a soft contact with the tube. At touch, the MATERIAL seems of a good quality, neither too hard not too soft.(-)- There is NO THIN STICKER that would guarantee that the product stays in place (well in the middle) so you have to mount it in a horizontal position and hope everything fine when is time of the vertical position (most of the time, for final assembly with the wheel). Some say that the tube could push the guard in a perfect mid, it may be true, but nothing says it and everything seems fine in the end.- The PRICE of the product is certainly still quite high, at the beginning of 2023, but after 4 tube replacements (10-15$ USD each) in 2022 I hope that it will save me some money and trouble too.Mention:The GOLD is close to the PURPLE (in size) but it seems that the latter would be a little larger (especially with a 700 x 35-38) to slightly cover the sides.QUALITY-PRICE ratio; (FOR NOW) GOOD ! Remains to be seen with time. * Various other products exist, but several seem to have only a lied impact when faced with different sharp objects. By carefully analyzing the reviews of other products, it seems that some even end up being brittle or even creating punctures by themselves with sharp edges or ending up causing wear on the tube. I haven't seen any such comments on Mr. Tuffy's seller page.I reserve the right to update this comment if there is a problem.Hoping that this little unbiased review will help you.

Tons of goatheads in my area. I was getting flats once or twice a week. No flats since installing now, three weeks so far. No difference in ride feel. I couldn’t be happier.

Installation was quite easy, so far no flats, but I've been using tires with the liner for a week or so. I did trim the liner, but left it still overlapping a little bit.
