White Owl, Barn Owl: Read and Wonder

This book was the inspiration for a reading unit lesson for my first graders. Great story and beautiful pictures.

I used this for a writer's workshop lesson in my second grade class. It's a quality piece of literature and the kids loved it!

This is a beautiful story with soft lovely illustrations. I read this to my pre k class as when we did a science unit on owls. The vocabulary was just enough to increase their knowledge. The kids asked me to re-read it even after the science unit was finished.

My 4 year old niece loves this book, as well as my 1st-5th grade students. We use it for our owl unit, which includes dissecting owl pellets like the ones described in the book. It's a lovely story with pretty pictures and lots of facts incorporated. Highly recommend!

We love these read listen and wonder books. My daughters listen and read every night before bed.

Great book but I wanted a copy that had the original CD. It made my grandson go right to sleep in the car when he was an infant

My kid loves the book. The story weaves so many facts about owls into the plot very well.

I bought this book along with another Nicola Davis book (Bat Loves the Night, which I have also reviewed) for the children in my Year 1 and 2 class. They loved it and as well as helping them with their science they also gained literacy skills when it came to writing non-fiction reports. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely book for my 6 year old. A must if your child is into wildlife (or you want them to be!).
