VetGuard Does The Job, and Some Suggestions for Better Results
I've used thus 3 applications now, alternating with a prescription tablet. (My cat hates the tablet, and I don't like forcing her to take it, so I break it up into her four pieces and put it in her dry food. It takes weeks before she ingests it all, as she's smart enough to pick around it.)This product is moderately priced and seems to do the job at least as well as the tablet, without a prescription. For application, I have three suggestions based on others' comments and my experience.1) Do make sure you apply it on the cat's neck just behind the skull. I'm told that's the only place cats can't reach to groom.2) It's important that you apply it directly to the cat's skin to the maximum extent possible. If you've had unsatisfactory results, it may be because too much medicine was wasted on the fur.3) It has been mentioned, and I agree, that some liquid applications seem to irritate cats' skin. I concur (i got some on mine). VetGuard does NOT seem to irritate my cat's skin, but she still bolted when I tried to apply it. Thinking about this, I thought it might be the temperature difference between the medicine's temperature (ambient) and her skin temp (a little higher than human). I tried running the applicator under hot-ish water for a little while to warm it up. When I applied the warmed VetGuard to her neck, she barely seemed to notice. So this is a trick worth trying.I'm ordering more today.

Took the cheap way out got more than what i paid for
The only thing that upsets me is i didnt buy more. I used to pay so much money for flea meds, but i legally stole this, dies that make sense? I don't care. My cat sunny boy had so much fleas on him last night, i was surprised it didnt get off in the house, i put it on him, saw less, he slept in the bed didnt move all night, woke up a few minutes ago to check my boy, hes clean, flea free, this stuff is the bomb, love it so much i wanna cuss, the only thing that will get me madder is if it gets discontinued and i cant buy anymore. Then i will cuss to the moon. Be prepared to spend pennies and get a godsent product because this stuff is a miracle. I even saw a dead flea hanging off his fur. Sunny is happy now. He insists on turning to an in and outdoor cat but knows where home is so we all are happy. Aunny talks he says thank you, flea drop people for 3 months of happiness

Worked on my cats
I was very pleased with this product. The price is much more affordable than other top brands. We have quite a few rescues so we have to do the best that we can afford. Remember : Fleas have to get on your pet and bite them in order to die from a topical flea product. Treat your yard , your home and your pets effectively and safely then you will rid yourself of any flea problems. Don't expect JUST to apply this to your pets and all the fleas will magically disappear. We took in 2 strays that were infested and our garage and yard got out of control. It took a little time to get rid of all the fleas. Another cheap safe little trick is to fill a shallow bowl or pan etc with some soapy water (dish soap is fine) and put a light over it at night. Fleas will be drawn to the light, jump in and sink. We did this in our garage and the first night there must have been 300 or more fleas, 2nd day about a 100 then less and less to zero. I will continue to use VetGuard and when I run out of Frontline for my dogs I will be trying out VetGuard for them as well.

Better than frontline plus
I have used frontline plus on our animals for years, then last year unbeknownst to me, it quit working. I had no idea and I thought it was a food allergy that caused my dog to scratch all the time. By the time I finally got frustrated and shaved the dog, he had an absolute nest of fleas on his back! It was the size of my hand! I may never get that image out of my head. So we switched all the animals to this vetguard plus because it uses permethrin instead of fipronil. All the signs on the store shelves say it's comparable to frontline plus, but in our case it is better than frontline plus because it actually works! If it had had the same ingredients as frontline plus I would not have gotten it, because those ingredients weren't working on our animals. I think the fleas in our area have grown resistant to fipronil. We do continue to find a few fleas here and there when we flea comb the animals but this is a vast improvement over the frontline plus, which allowed fleas to nest on my dog!

Cheap Solution with Bad Consequences
Update: My 4 year old seems to have lost most of the hair where this stuff was applied (back of her neck). This has never happened before with any other brand of flea treatment. The smaller cat was fine, but he's also long hair so it may just be less noticeable. I won't buy this again.Original:Applied to my cats as a precaution. One often runs outside if the door opener isn't fastidious. The stuff was totally dried by the next day which I thought was a bit odd. Other brands seem stay moist/oily for a few days. In any case, it's cheap for peace of mind.

Great product
I have 6 cats. This is an amazing product that works amd is affordable. Great product!!!! I was sceptical however everyone has been flea free for the 4 months we have used it and the cats do not appear to mind this treatment or react to it like the expensive name brands....no weird kitty flea application dance. I did not even get the stink eye from the very outspoken guy. So I would recommend this over any other product I have used thus far.

Never again...
The package itself is messy... it was very difficult to open without causing leakage. The application process was more difficult as well because as opposed to other brands, this brand has a wide tip with a huge opening (yes I followed instruction properly) and even though we got the house professionally treated for fleas (as a precaution) and had the cats professionally flea dipped/groomed while the pest control handled our home, 2 weeks after adopting this product, they are infested with fleas. It also caused my long-haired cat to foam at the mouth and shake uncontrollably. Both of my cats separate from excessive itching following application of this flea product and the short haired cat drooled for two days. I will NEVER purchase this useless crud again!!!!!!!!!
