Works 90% as well as expensive versions
I ordered three of these for the trees the city planted along my sidewalk. They were pretty easy to install, easy to fill, and drained out over a few hours. Which I think is exactly what I need. There were some minor quality control issues. One of the three I purchased had a little leaking along the seams on the sides. Another does not drain completely and when left for a few days it still had about half gallon of water in the bottom. The design does not have anyway to close up the hole in the top after you fill it and I worry that mosquitoes will lay eggs if I leave it with standing water inside. Overall, I think this is a great economical version of the more expensive brands, and since I paid about 50% I am nothing but satisfied with the purchase.

This works great holds 20 gallons of water
This works great for watering my new tree. It holds 20 gallons of water and waters my tree over a 6-8 hour period. Some people gave it bad reviews, however they thought it was supposed to water the tree over several days. It plainly states it waters the tree over a 6-8 hour period so it's a one day watering. Works great, not cheap, good quality materials. Just make sure when your filling the bag up with water that you make sure you have the water hose inside the hole of the bag so the water is going inside of the bag to fill it up. It's very easy to mistake it as being in the hole of the bag and filling up, when in fact the hose is not in the hole, its actually just pouring water on the ground, that was my mistake glad I caught it pretty quickly so as not 2 waste a bunch of water. I do recommend this bag, it works great. I'm going to order more of these when I get new trees in the spring because it works so good.

Great product that makes life a little bit easier!
Good bags for the money. They usually last me 2 years and then they start to leak because of the sun beating down on it. Easy to use with the zipper and to fill at the top. I will continue to use these so i don’t have to hand water.

Best Tree in neighborhood
These really work, and they work very well. I have been trying to get a tree to grow in my front yard strip for 5 years I have killed 2 trees. Despite this summer being the hottest ever, my tree is thriving. My neighbors finally respect me. Before they would yell "tree killer", I would cry and cry. But now I am the one hurling insults at my neighbors. Every 1 to 2 days I refill the bag, and it slowly waters the tree. Very easy to use and set up. Worth the money.

My trees were suffering in the heat and drought. This is a perfect solution!
The original one arrived with a cut/hole in the side that gushes water. It was immediately replaced by Amazon. The replacement works just like it is supposed to. It slowly seeps water out over a long period of time. It appears to be heavy duty and should last for years. It is too small to go around my big trees, but it has Velcro straps. I unzipped it, then just ran a bungee cord through the straps to secure it to the tree. I have been quite pleased with the way it works. It appears to be a great way to slowly and carefully water the trees. Not a drop of water goes to waste.

Thin material, easily torn
Easy to attach to trees and fill, which was nice, but the bags are thin. Our lawn guy nicked both with his weed whacker and as a result they got holes and leaked.

As Good as Gator Bags, Half the Cost, Great Value!
Great value. After planting about a dozen new trees to replace those lost to the hated emerald ash borer, a mini drought has plagued our area. Facing the loss of our new trees we went the the orange big box store to get some gator bags, but they only had 2 left. A quick search on Amazon and I found these. Te reviews were good and I needed some and the price was less than half what I just paid, so I had little to lose. These bags are good quality, not the same as Gator bags, but good all the same. Strong material, good zippers, all 10 work. I think the bags a slightly smaller, but that's not an issue. In the attached photo you'll see the Greenscapes bags on the left, they're a darker green, and the Gator Bag is on the right, the limey green for comparison. Works great, half the price, great value.

Unintended consequences
Really, these bags should be the solution to gardening and planting new trees in southern California with our miserably hot recent summers and our water restrictions. And, I honestly love the idea of them and their purpose. I have ten or so from various companies purchased over the last few summers but tonight I just gave up. In theory they are practical. However there is a major, major drawback. Only one of the bags continues to function as a slow release water system and empties as advertised. All the others stopped functioning and did not empty or half emptied and those became reservoirs for mosquitoes to use for breeding. I repeatedly took needles and then thumbtacks out into the garden and stabbed new holes in the bags only to have them close up again. I had six deployed around the yard to water new citrus trees and as the summer wore on they held more and more water. After 4 days this week all of them were still half full and teeming with mosquito larvae.

Works great! Does what it says.. it slowly waters my tree. Probably takes an hour or so to drain.. I haven’t timed it exactly.. but this product works great! We are in a drought right now so it works great!

The bags seem to be the same as other watering bags we have seen. We are finding that a full bag of water is only lasting 2 days maybe 2-1/2 days tops, before we need to refill the bags again.

A must for newly planted trees for the first 2-3 seasons. Super convenient and far better delivery of water than trying to water by hand. I was water daily but it got so hot and dry that even watering twice a day, didn’t stop leaf scorch. After I started using this the scorching stoped, and the leaves stay fully open, even the weather has become even hotter. I would say this is an essential for new trees.

I planted some new apple seedlings in my yard a little late into the summer. I was trying to keep up on watering, but after nearly half of the leaves yellowed and fell off, I knew I needed something more reliable. I saw some of these types of bags around the city on trees and looked closer for the brand. I immediately bought two on Amazon and got them on my trees a couple of days later. My trees have perked right up and grown a few more leaves. This is a great product for establishing new trees!

I’m not sure if there was a manufacturing defect on the one I received, but it only watered one side of the tree even when I tried repositioning it. It also drained much faster than I anticipated.
