Not for everyone, but I like them!

I grew up with those salmiaks when I was a child in Europe. To this day, my poor American husband can't understand why i love them so much. He thinks it's just ammonia. To me, it's a lot more. Can't really describe the taste, but i love them.I had written this review some time ago. Now, in the last few months, i just can't find them anymore....any idea why? Thanks so much, Anita

The package they show for these is not what you'll receive, at the time of this review. If you search for salmiak licorice you'll see a package that says SALLOS Salmiak pastillen. Since they are made buy the same company my guess is that the SALLOS package picture is a newer package design. And then it's an even newer updated package picture of the SALLOS package. Very much the same, just a little different.These are not exactly the same as the German little triangle shaped really salty salmiak licorice.First: they are the same shape as the original salmiak licorice that I love from Germany but the triangles are about three times the size.Second: people say these are very salty. I guess they've never had the original salmiak licorice from Germany. There is very little salty taste!Third: as you suck on, or chew, on these somewhat hard, not as hard as the original, they turn into a slimey gooey type of gel type substance. Best way I can say how the texture is in that state is like when you cough up some gooey fleghm when you're really sick. I HATE the texture of these things in that state.Do yourself a favor if you love the original little triangled shaped, really salty, salmiak licorice from Germany and buy the Rheila brand. They are exactly as I remember this type of salmiak licorice that use to come in little tin containers years and years ago. Rhiela brand IS expensive!!! But if you love the original little triangled shaped, really salty, salmiak licorice from Germany then that is the brand you definitely want to buy. It's worth the price, to me, to buy the Rheila brand!!!I will NEVER buy this brand again and I will tell all my friends that love the original triangled shaped, really salty, salmiak licorice from Germany not to buy this brand!!!

This is my favorite licorice. I am German and nothing else is as good. I couldn't find any more. Please get some moe of this
