Will work if you get a good one.
This looks pretty good at first sight, but, if you are familiar with old style mechanical speedometers, you might not be impressed to see the same old squared off flexible spring drive shaft inside. This takes some getting used to positioning, as there are no guide marks to show you how much needs to be in the Dremel and how much in the attachment. If you get it wrong, either the attachment won't turn, or the motor won't turn. Once positioned it did drive surprisingly well, and you only have to be careful that the kick back doesn't unscrew the locking nut, or you suddenly have a nasty thrashing drive shaft to avoid before you can turn the Dremel off.Unfortunately, my particular unit must have had its own drive tube thread cut with a blunt tool, as the threads were rounded off, and the rather oversized locking collar would not bite to hold tool bits in the collets. I was lucky that I have other similar drills, and could take a collar from one that was a better fit, and so manage to finish the sanding job I'd started.I cannot fault the supplier however, as, as soon as I showed him pictures of the blunt thread and loose collar, he refunded my money. So: if you get one that is properly cut, I would say this is a fairly useful alternative to the very expensive Dremel version. I made some little sanding wheels out of tonic water bottle tops, and was impressed at how much sanding I could do with just a little disc of AlOx paper stuck on them with super glue!
