The Travel Writer's Handbook: How to Write

This is an okay book about traveling in general. And the beginning offers some nice references to other books to go to for further learning.The first half of the book, unfortunately, seems very dated and seems to be geared toward a generation still getting used to modern technology. Multiple references to going to the library are made, and they even take time explaining how to surf the internet and what an "app" on a smartphone is. I realize the book needs to help people of all ages and abilities, but it still feels wasteful when they devote paragraph upon paragraph on how to do searches online. They also spend a lot of time explaining how to plan a trip - not just for travel writing, but just trip planning in general. And again it feels unnecessary.The book got much more useful in the second half, when they get into more practical tips on how to write and submit work for publication. To be fair, the second half contains helpful guides and nuggets of wisdom. I would I could just have the second half of the book. As it is, I regret buying the book because so much of it was unhelpful to me.

Good how to book.

Even though this book has been around for awhile, the information has been updated to include online research, a list of great websites, and other important resources and insights.

This was part of the rquired text for an online travel writing course I had enrolled in. So far, this book has been very helpful and full of research and marketing information to submit articles. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in publishing their writings, whether it be magazine articles, poetry, fiction or non-fiction.

For the most part, this has good advice for the novice writer. Except for a few tips, it isn't for more experienced writers.

It was OK. Not what I expected. I am not looking for employment as a Travel WriterI was looking more at writing about journeys already taken. It lacked the infoI was looking for

I found this book to be very helpful, chock full of knowledge. At the same time, I enjoyed reading it, never bored by the educational element.

Great book by a pro. If you have an interest in all things related to travel writing it seems to be covered here.Also an excellent read.

Recieved book very quickly and eas very happy with the purchase

Arrived in good time, very slightly bent cover but through no fault of the supplier as was well wrapped. Yet to give to the recipient as a gift so can't comment on the content.
