National Hardware Craftsman Gate Kit N109-316 with Gate Latch, Gate Hinges, and Gate Pull, Black

I designed and built a half barn door for the top of my stairs and didn't want the traditional gate hardware look. These are perfect; more craftsman or modern styling. The quality of the hardware is excellent and I love how the door turned out!

Beautiful accessories. Easy to install. It's only been a few weeks but it appears very sturdy.

I'm in the middle of building a new gate that's used to access beneath our raised deck. The old fence rotted and the hardware was not worth saving. I picked up some nice Cedar planks and have been on the lookout for nicer and more durable hardware. Something beyond those generic galvanized metal hinges and twisty latch. Man does this do what I wanted - and more.First the weight. Nothing cheap or thin here. Next is the styling. It goes with anything. It's geometric, and modern and classic. It goes with Prairie, Deco, Farm - seriously. It looks so much nicer when it's in your hands.Install is simple and all hardware is included. Plus if you have a tall gate, almost any inside cable pull will work with the latch so it can be opened from either side (I installed one of those last week.)The only thing I'll do differently is use a few carriage bolts to pass through the hardware, pickets and supporting 2x4's. I find over time this prevents sagging and keeps things tighter. Plus the hardware has square holes, so carriage bolts will work perfectly. I'll just have to paint them first.As an aside, the pins pop out of the hinges easily so you can reverse the gate and the swing. Really handy and well made.

It's made of heavy steel that is painted a glossy black. This is a substantial set and is much larger than it appears in the product page pictures. It has beautiful, Craftsman-style piercings which are simple but elegant. There is a hole in the latch where you can attach a padlock to further secure your home.I have a 100 year old home built in the Arts and Crafts era and this looks so much more attractive than the standard gate hardware we replaced. The hinges swing smoothly and the latch works perfectly. It's beautiful and functional so it meets William Morris' rule: "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” The only thing I wish was different is that I would have prefered matte black paint. But otherwise, I am thrilled with it.

I used these hinges on a fence gate I made. This particular fence surrounds my trash cans. It was made from 2x4 rails (3 of them) with 6" wide pine pickets. Overall, it's about 5-6' tall and the gate is about 40" wide. I give those details just to give an idea of the size and weight. For my purposes, these work great. They've held the gate in place without any shifting or racking, and it gets a good amount of daily use. I also like that the hinges allow it to open very wide. Not quite 180 degrees, but darn near close.Install was easy, as they are easy to lay out and the bolts they came with were good quality. I liked how far these hinges extend onto the gate to ensure they can prevent tilting or racking of the door.

This is a thick, durable gate kit in a really interesting design that goes well with my mid-century modern home. The style of this gate kit is more craftsman style but the sharp angles are simple design go perfectly with my house and gate. This kit includes everything you need including the latch, which can hold a standard size padlock.I just put up a wood fence and have been looking for gate hardware and this is just perfect and looks amazing. The metal pieces are large, it's hard to tell from the photos but they are heavy and built to last a long time. This is a great quality craftsman style gate kit, and it can also work as a hinges and handle for an outdoor shed door.
