Nice tool to have. We bought more as everyone wanted to keep one at their workstation. Opens metal or plastic. Closes both. Nice weight so you can hammer ect. Well made. Heavy duty.

This product would probably work great on lids with notches, but did not work at all on our solid lid on 5 gallon resin pails

Best pail opener ever
I've used the cheap plastic 5 gallon pail openers for a few years only to have them break all the time. The Vestil Pail-Pal is hands down the best tool I've ever used to remove 5 gallon bucket lids that have been almost vulcanized on. And it won't break. The only complaint is that mine has a casting flaw that looks unsightly on one side but this does not affect performance. This tool should last a lifetime for what I'm doing.

Great tool
I searched around for awhile for a lid opener, most were under 10$ and plastic. Then I found the the pail-pal more expensive then the rest but well worth it. Solid construction and a multitude of uses.I live on a farm and am always opening pails and steel pails a must for long term food storage.

Save your finger tips
Very easy to use helps with cutting the tops and prying them off. Invaluable when opening dozens of the pails per day

Does the job
If you need it, just go ahead and get it. It worked like a charm getting the lids off of 5 gallon, metal buckets of deck stain so I could take them for recycling. Don’t be stubborn like I was and and try prying off the lids with a screwdriver first. Spend the money on the Vestil PAIL-PAL and save yourself from the spike in cortisol levels from trying to “make do” with something else. Get the right tool for the job.

Other reviews said it was poor quality... Mine is OK I sharpened the part that cuts the plastic and it works like it should.
