sturdy and well built--and an incredible value
This bike is stylish, sturdy and well built--and an incredible value! It's fairly easy to assemble, however, it took quite awhile to adjust the cable brakes, especially the rear. Also, the ergonomics of the brake levers in relation to the handlebars and gear shifter are somewhat problematic. The levers can be adjusted to move them closer to the handlebars but it would help if the levers were longer (which would make them easier for kids to reach) particularly on the right side which would increase the grip area beyond the shifter mechanism and thus make it easier to stop the rear wheel.. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the quality, fit and finish is exceptional--even if one takes into account the potential cost of replacing brake levers, the bike is still a great value. I'm certain my granddaughter will love it.

Beautiful Girls Bike, with features found on much more expensive bikes
This bike is beautiful, stylish, well-built and affordable. After puchasing another brand of bike that arrived before Christmas, I discovered the front forks were improperly machined and one side of the front wheel axle did not fit the forks. I returned that bike and paid slightly more for this one. Boy, was I impressed. For very little more money, this bike exudes quality. You cannot go wrong with this bike unless your little girl is too small for a 20". My granddaughter loves hers all day long. Be aware that this bike has no foot brakes, but the handbrakes are efficient and easy to use, even for my 6 year old granddaughter. The hand grip shift system is easy to use, and she picked it up like a pro. Be sure your little love is big enough for a 20" bike. This bike should take her into her early teens, it's that well-built. and it is gorgeous. Highly recommended.

it's pretty nice. Especially like the spring loaded kick-stand
Most importantly, would I buy it again? Yes. Overall, my 8 yr old daughter loves it. She wanted a bike (outgrew her previous bike that had 1) Hand brakes, and 2) Gears. Considering all that it contains, it's pretty nice. Especially like the spring loaded kick-stand. I took off a star because the back wheel isn't 100% true. Adjusting the back brakes, the tire will still hit the brake at one spot on the wheel. It's not 100% true, but it's close enough that only I realize it. Also, my 8 year old has some difficulty in switching the gears. She's strong though and continued to switch them often. And finally, the back brake is somewhat hard to squeeze the lever. None of this stops her from using it. She got it today, and said a big "WOW" when she first saw it, and used it tor an hour today, and no doubt much longer tomorrow. With the bike, you have to install the seat, handle bars and front brake. The front brake was a pain, somewhat I guess. Here's my recommendation. If you already have tools to do it and therefore you're used to doing things like this in the past even if every once in a while, great. On the other hand, if you've never used a hex wrench before, pay 80 bucks, and have someone else assemble it for you. You won't get the front brake on correctly.

Nice quality bike for the price
Nice quality bike for the price. Of course with any bike you should once over everything and adjust for accuracy. Brakes, wheel alignment and bolts. Front wheel needs to be installed from shopping and a few minor things. But I think this is a good thing. I don't necessarily trust the accuracy of things like this when your kid could take a fail so verifying everything while you complete the install is a good idea. One slight complaint it'd that the shifter is pretty tight for a youth. I just ordered some higher quality smooth shift Shimanos to swap out and threw a basket on there as well. All in all a great bike.

I think it is better to buy a bike at walmart or any stores ...
I think it is better to buy a bike at walmart or any stores who give bike assembled. I bought this bike for my kid and it was good for half assembly. I took it to bike shop for front brake fixing and handle bar which costed me $20 and hassle of taking it in my car keeping the trunk open. After few days, The front brake has come out and i need to take it to shop again. I hate this bike.

Worth the wait!
My daughter chose this bike for her birthday gift. We had to wait a few weeks for it to arrive but it was well worth it. She loves the bike and it was a breeze to assemble. It was packed remarkably well. The bike is a little heavy but it is built very well. She will get many years of use out of it.

Cool bike. Needs some adjustment to make it work.
It's a good size bike for my 8 years old. It's a cool bike and she really likes it. The bad though: 1. I've got big trouble with the front hand break. The handle doesn't release or get back to open position after release the break. I'm not a bike pro so I need to do some research and ask around to see what to do next. 2. My daughter got somewhat smaller hands so she can barely reach or hold the breaks. I hope there's a way to adjust the break handle and make it closer to the bike handle? Size wise, probably this bike would fit better for girls age 8.5 or 9. My daughter is actually pretty tall to her age but still barely able to keep both feet on the ground while sitting on the seat (at lowest position already). The built quality, at least to me, is just so so. At first I can hear some weird scratch sound when my daughter's riding it then when I check it (rolling with hands), it seems the back wheel isn't aligned very well and I can see it swivel a little and touch the break pad to cause the sound. Release the pad a little bit helped though.

Great Bicycle
Got this for our 7 year old granddaughter. It is a big step up from the 16" "Little Princess" bike she had. She loves it, .. she is so happy to tell her friends at school that she has a real big girls bike, .. with hand brakes and gears. And she really likes the color, ..

Good quality, good price, some assembly required
Good quality bicycle. Had to order a replacement part, got referred to the Canadian distributor. They were great and sent the part no charge, including shipping. Assembly was straight forward, though I have experience in a bike shop. Pay $25 to SportChek or a bike shop to assemble for you if you arent handy or dont have the tools (wrenches, allen keys, Philip's screwdriver, chain lube) Frame is the perfect size for my a-bit-tall-for-her-age 8 year old. Price was right, seems like a solid purchase.
