Here are three tips I discoverer:
I installed a new stone floor in the bath which increased the floor height. So I need to raise the toilet as well.Three things I discovered:1. Turns out the mounting tee bolts secured the toilet better if they keyed into the original flange and passed through the extension ring.2. The mounting tee blots need to be longer than my original bolts, and the engineered plastic bolts within the kit seemed strong and easily were cut to length.3. Removing the original flange's mounting screws and then secure the extension ring with longer wood screws made a secure connection.

Worked good over my existing ring
Liked the 5/16-inch thickness which was just right for the tile I added to the floor. This allowed a standard-thickness wax ring to be used instead of an extra thick one. Toilet hold-down bolts are plastic so they won't rust but will they break? Time will tell.

The only flange extensions I use
Great flange extensions. Surprisingly, I install several of these per month to elevate flanges that are damaged and/or too low. These are a great alternative to a costly, complete clostet flange replacement. They are stackable (I've stacked 3 with silicone in between), durable and easy to install if you have the proper/right tools and experience. Highly recommend.
