Mushrooms are a staple of my diet. As I don't like going to the grocery store during this pandemic and my mushroom lady at the farmers market stopped showing up, I was forced to look for other avenues for a mushroom supply. I wanted a variety so I ordered four kinds: portabella, porcini, shitake and oyster. (I'm copying this review to the other pages.) When I saw that the mushrooms originated in China I was a little disappointed. Why do dried mushrooms have to fly halfway across the world? Aren't mushrooms being grown in California, or at least in the US? When I looked at other brands it seems most of the available dried mushrooms are grown in China. Oh well. These have been a life saver. I take out enough to last four meals. I wash them, then cook them in my home made chicken/veggie stock for about 20 mins, then freeze them in individual containers so I can defrost them and heat them up with other veggies to make an egg scramble for breakfast. Delicious.

I made a delicious Asian style stir fry with these mushrooms, and it was amazing flavor wise; I would definitely buy again.

I not bought anything to compare these to, but they have a good flavor. Additionally, they are mostly whole white few broken pieces and no worms. Atleast none I can see.

We have been using these mushrooms for years. The flavor is great, comparable to the ones found in Asian stores. However, I must say those Shiitake Mushrooms in Asian stores are mostly larger in size but none of them are organic.The main reason I continue with this product is because it's the only certified organic dry Shiitake.Pros:- Good packaging.- Good flavor.- Certified organic.Cons:- Really expensive. I suggest that you buy them through Amazon Subscription, saving you 5% to 15% that way.Overall, I like the mushrooms and will continue to buy them until I can find another organic Shiitake Mushroom vendor.

Believe me when I say I am not a fan of mushrooms but enjoyed these when mixed properly with other dishes. They don't have the typical texture of a normal mushroom and almost feel like a chewy piece of steak in your both. If mixed with a beef stew or stir fry, you'll never know.

I hated paying that much for just a few little dried mushrooms, but needed them for a baked chicken sauce.They were very tasteful and I'm glad I made the purchase.
