Will rye bread fit in this toaster....without having to toast it in an upright position? Thanks

Have not tried Rye bread yet. I do toast the larger whole grain breads with no problems.

Question 2

It looks like there is no cancel or stop button.  Can the user stop the toasting process once it has started?  How?

There is a stop button .. two actually, located in the lower center .. between each set of two slots.  It's hard to see in the picture.. looks like a light gray circle.  It's much easier to see in person.  Another nice feature on this is that the center has two leavers .. one for each side of the toaster that will actually lift the toast out so you can remove it without getting burned.  I love this.. because I love the small crust of the bread toasted but with my old toaster I was often burned trying to wiggle my small toast out.  I love my toaster and am sure that anyone buying this one will be delighted when they use it.

Question 3

Does anyone know where to go to replace the black plastic levers that raise and lower the toast? Eventually they break at the point where they attach to the toaster. I can't find them anywhere.

You can get two small tubes of JBWeld  a two part epoxy and it mixes to a dark grey color and put a small half pea size dab on the back of the knob and then place the knob on the metal arm in the appropriate position and hold for a few moments and then let the JBWeld set overnight and the next day you will find the knob very very secure. I did this to one of mine 9 years ago and it is still holding strong JBweld can be found at Home Depot or Lowes or other hardware stores and even here on Amazon dot com

does it have a beveled handle on the back - making it easy to lift?

No handle on the back but it's easy  to lift. I love it. It is my second one . Will order the same one in the  future .
