Light and good blade .hold edge for a long time and keeps the hands safe from accidental closure. slightly bulgy in the front pocket,,, is that a old bear or you glad to see me?

Great blade shape for pocketknife carving–better shape than an Opinel. Needed a little sharpening to get the edge geometry the way I like it and the steel appears to be genuine high-rustable-carbon, which I always prefer to generic stainless poseur stock. Love the patina it develops. I think I prefer the look of an Opinel Carbone a little more, but this Italian Old Bear currently gets more pocket time, which is a testament to it's character and blade profile. Like an Opinel, if it gets wet the hinge seizes up, so oil it up... and camellia oil on the blade is also a good thing. Character is one thing, but rust is another.

It’s a pretty nice knife. I think I went a little too small for this one but it’s a decent knife for the piece. I really like the locking mechanism.My only complaint is the knife was not very sharp out of the box. Pretty easy to remedy this but I like a knife I can use straight away. Holds an edge well now that it’s sharpened. It’s lightweight and comfortable. Recommend this but might need to be sharpened, so keep that in mind.

It fits in the fifth pocket of my jeans.
