Masahiro MV Gyutou Knife 8.2-inch(210mm)

Wonderful, professional quality, Japanese-steel knife! These knives have come down A LOT in price since the 1st one I bought 22+ years ago.

I love quality products. Having a good knife is a valuable tool. It appears to stay sharp longer than the average quality knife

I was very excited when I received this knife as I have been doing research on Japanese Gyotos for quite some time. I felt like I finally found the one for me. Overall the knife is amazing and everything I am looking for. However as you can see from the picture there are significant scratches on both sides of the knife. Initially I thought that it was a one off and requested a replacement from Amazon. Amazon was prompt and I had another knife within 2 days. Unfortunately the replacement contained the same scratches on both sides of the blade. Everything I have read states that Masahiro is a very good company and they take pride in their products. I don't know if this was just one run of knives that slipped past quality control but in the end I am very disappointed and will most likely return the knife.

Purchased this knife for my boyfriend who is a chef for Xmas. He LOVED it. Shipping took a bit long because product is coming from Japan, but we got exactly what we ordered. He is happy!
