Rodent feces
I found rat feces in mine, just one large "pellet" but that's one too many. I just threw it out and wont order anymore. Theres no point in making a big fuss about it, since rodent feces makes its way into all our grains and cereal, but it is usually ground up and easier to ignore. It is what it is.

"*Special*" tea - for newbie tea drinkers only.
I'm a terribly fussy tea drinker and alas it must be just so or else. So mail order tea is a real risk even with a gazillion 5 star reviews. It tastes like stong tea that has been washed then pre-brewed.What is washing? You want to wash your tea if it is dirty. Or loaded with insects. Aka, just picked and then dried. Completely natural and unprocessed. Toss the tea leaves into a bowl of water, swish and pour off the water. Brew normally or....Pre-brewYou want to do a fast pre-brew to your tea if you want a quick and dirty way to lower the caffeine in the tea. Pour hot water over the tea and let sit for 10 - 30 seconds. Then toss the water and brew as usual. The caffeine soaks out faster than the flavor. Mostly. You lose the most aggressive flavors from the tea and that element of the tea that makes your throat scratchy. It makes a cheap tea *seem* closer to a high end tea only missing some of the most interesting bright flavors. Use at least 50% more leaves if you do this because the regular amount will taste weak. The high end teas are naturally less harsh and don't affect your throat but have strong, bright flavors. It is a desecration to pre-brew a high end tea. There has been a rash of companies "cleaning up" their tea. David's Tea is one and now Davidson's. Every single tea I tried at David's Tea was like this tea (I went to a tasting - totally lost count of how many tea's I tasted). Of course, I have I dunno how many of my own teas. With a little experimentation, I found I could duplicate the flavor with highly aggressive washing/prebrewing using the strongest, harshest teas. In fact, you NEED strong, harsh (and yes cheap) teas otherwise there is no flavor left. Why wouldn't you do this to a strong but excellent tea? Because, you can sell it for an even higher price to addicted tea drinkers. And the price of these "special" teas? Thru the roof. What do I think? It's probably cheap strong tea, heavily washed/prebrewed then the price jacked up beyond belief.Smoothing out the taste of the tea is trivial. But inexperienced tea drinkers don't know this. These companies are targeting newbies and their wallets. They compare their product with high end teas - focusing on the smoothness NOT the taste. Because it tastes washed out and missing all the bright top notes. They know an inexperienced tea drinker won't pay $200 per pound for a high end tea therefore it's a safe comparison. The inexperienced drinkers first reaction is "how smooth" instead of "Half the flavor notes are missing, I can't even tell this is an oolong. Why is this so smooth? It's too inexpensive to be this smooth naturally. Oh, no."Recommendation: Go to a top notch tea shop that carries lots of Asian teas and do a tasting. Ask the shop owners about David's Tea and Davidson's - bring a sample if you have it. Ask them to duplicate the flavor. Or try it at home with two bags of Lipton instead of one.P. S. Tea leaves make great compost.

Silver Needle Tea is back to its high quality.
I previously reported they had a bad run of Silver Needle Tea, well... they are buying good Silver Needle again, so three cheers for Davidsons Tea.

Mostly positive.
I wish each flavor could be reviewed and rated separately. So far I've loved nearly all of the ones I've ordered, but a few stand out as being not up to par with the rest.Sun, Moon, & Stars - Unfortunately this blend is just awful. The oolong overpowers everything, and that's partly because oolong preparation is different from other teas. Oolong is supposed to be pre-soaked to rid it of the musty smell before steeping it for tea. Since it's blended with the much gentler green and jasmine teas, presoaking also removes much of their flavor, especially the jasmine blossom scent.Pumpkin Spice - Tastes very meh when made with water, but the flavors seem like they might work well with milk, so I intend to try that before saying this blend is bad.Orange Spice - Delicious, but VERY pungent. If you want a strong cinnamon tea with notes of other holiday flavors, this is great.Cinnamon Apple - Mild cinnamon flavor, very little fruit flavor. Good, but not great.Earl Grey Red - Very strong earl grey flavor, quite lovely.English Breakfast - A nice strong black tea, exactly as you'd expect. Slightly musty flavor though, but nothing bad. I'm used to Bigelow and Twinning variety which lack that mustiness, but all told I prefer Davidson's because the overall flavor is nicer.Peppermint - Yup, it's peppermint. Clean, refreshing and cool; as it should be.Chamomile - Wonderful sweet honey tones without any sugar needed. Perfect!Spring Fruit & Flowers - My absolute favorite so far. It's exactly what the name suggests, a lightly floral and strong fruity flavor.

I was worried the rumors weren't true, but...
I was worried the rumors weren't true, but I had the pleasure to find my own feather, some plastic strings a couple of chrysalis, some wood, AND..A Bird Turd!!! Yippiii!I just sorted it out and gonna drink it anyway, but could you (Mr. Davidson Tea) just pretend like you give a damn about what you put in the bag you sell, I'm sure MAPAQ representatives wouldn't be so kind. And please, sort it out before infusing it, I almost prepared me a bird turd infusion,Thanks for reading!

Feces, larvae and plastic, oh my!
Bought this because it sounded tasty and because of the cheap price. Bag has a really nice fruity odour to it as well. However after a couple glasses of tea, I ended up throwing it all in the garbage.Upon inspection of the bag, I found what looked like rabbit feces (little pellets), moth larvae (lots of them!) and pieces of green plastic. So gross. But hey it at least smelled good, right?I won't be buying from this brand again. What a waste of money.

Rooibos tea. Just a 16oz. bag of bulk tea.
Not all the reviews here are talking about the same item. This is a review for Davidson's bulk Rooibos tea in the 16 oz. bag.I opened up my bag, poured it out onto a newspaper and guess what I found? I found tea. Nothing but a 16 oz bag of ready-to-use Rooibos bulk tea - no stick, stones, marbles, gum, coins...just tea. See my attached picture. It's fresh and delicious and a great price! Delivery was prompt too. Thanks Davidsons'!

but I was not expecting it to be quite this big - that's a nice surprise. I don't have a container for this ...
I saw the size in the listing, but I was not expecting it to be quite this big - that's a nice surprise. I don't have a container for this amount of tea, so I'm happy that the zipper-lock inside of the bag is so sturdy and glides easily. The tea itself is, of course, spearmint leaves. I've had many cups since I've received the bag and I have no complaints. Spearmint isn't my favourite flavor, however I got it because of some pretty neat studies that showed the benefits of spearmint specifically. I haven't noticed any debris in the mix, and it tastes just like spearmint without any surprises. I pour boiling water over the leaves and they don't feel or taste burnt. This tells me that I have received what I actually ordered. This is the best value you're going to get for spearmint. I've seen 20 tea satchels for $5+, so at $17 for a bag with about 400 cups of tea the value is awesome. All in all, yes. It's good, the leaves aren't dirty, it smells and tastes like spearmint, and I will be repurchasing.

My go-to evening tea
I love, love, love this tea and purchase it regularly. I am actually rather addicted to it: it seems to be the only tea I will drink in the evening. There has been an outcry recently in Canadian media about microplastics in bagged tea, so you can rest slightly easier when purchasing loose-leaf tea. However, in my first bag of this, I did find a long plastic strand (approx. 1 inch) amongst the tea. I didn't take a photo as it didn't warrant enough concern for me, personally. Just be wary that plastic is pretty ubiquitous these days.Additionally, it would be nice if the packaging for this was less plastic-y. The bag looks to be made of paper and then you open it to find a thick layer of plastic (or foil?) inside. I understand this may help with maintaining freshness, but it would be so nice to find a tea that has minimal plastic packaging.
