I wanted to write a review because of all bad press these little floats have gotten. (fresh water setup)In the pictures above, you will see where I used the blue tubing kit and I baught the extra tubing just incase I messed up.Runing the tubing (hidden) along behind the shelf, I did put in the (provided) ballvalve to cut off the water at the tank.Under the sink, I used two Ice maker line kits with the taps. One to the hot and one to the cold. This will balance the desired temp to the tank. The line tap valves allow me to adjust the temp and the preasure on the float. (This is the key).If your float bypasses after its all hooked up and full? Simply shut the preasue on the line tap valves. (problem salved).Everything you see, I got with three kits. No extra parts were used.Notice the extra "T" with valve? This is for the ice maker on the fridge. If you are worried about warm water to the ice maker? Science has proven, hot water freezes faster and cleaner.Well! I just found out I can not "Link" so. Don't do it. Trust me, buy a different one. I have had great success with these kinds of valves for years as a way to keep top off water bins full. I have installed 3 similar valves on 3 other bins and this one is the only one that has ever failed me. Even when the float is all the way up it still let's water through. The first time it happened I thought I had the float adjusted wrong so I fixed it and it worked. Once. The next time I used it to fill the bin it again failed. Even with the float fully under water it couldn't hold the valve shut so it flooded my den. I'm still trying to dry the carpet 3 days later. It's not a problem with pressure either as I have 3 similar valves from other manufacturers that have never leaked once using the same pressure. Don't get this. Treat yourself and get a better one.

I have a tank for exotic plants which requires a 2-inch level of water at all times. I've tried several of these (they all seem to be based on the same basic design) and found it rather confusing both in terms of the size of the hoses that are compatible and it terms of performance. There are plenty of ways to step up or step down hose sizes, so I won't get into that. However in terms of performance, I didn't find any of these which didn't leak where the hose connects to the float unit. What I did learn after some trial and error, however, is that a little plumbers teflon tape fixes the leak problem straight away (at least it did for my setup).Too bad there are no instructions with this or the other units as it probably would prevent lots of returns.FOLLOW-UP ... once I got this installed properly it seems to be working very well. The plexiglass platform with an adjustable level is definitely the best way to go as compared with less expensive "poke a hole in something" offerings. I would buy this again and do recommend it. Use teflon tape to prevent leakage around the tube-to-unit connector.

As other reviews have said, the valve still leaks by when the tank is full, so use a ball valve in-line with this product and only use it to fill periodically. I've owned my valve for a year now and the back of the bracket broke off and the whole float was in my tank. If I didn't use a ball valve with this, my living room would have been flooded. Still giving it three stars because it's nice to start filling a tank and not have to worry about turning off the water by hand for a few hours after the tank is full.

The design isn’t well thought out. I’ve got a fairly standard sized tank and it won’t work because the screws are too long. I tried to email the sender to see if there was shorter screws to makE it more functional, but didn’t hear back. In the meantime my return window expired.I’m just going to spend a little more for an ATO with electronic eyes for safety backup. This one will flood if it not secured just right. It might work for you but didn’t for me

Love it! I’ve missed my morning coffee before because I didn’t realize until too late that the reservoir was empty. I’m so glad to have my mornings simplified even one little step more. Great product, bracket worked surprisingly well. I’m working on a way to modify the lid so I don’t have dust, but for now a piece of plastic wrap keeps out stuff.

This is a simple system to install. I am not running it on a pressurized line. I am gravity feeding from a tank for my ato system in my sump. It is keeping my water levels perfect. It definetly has reduced my to do tasks every morning. Now only topping off the reservoir every other day rather than topping off the system once or twice a day.

Very well-made, I was skeptical because of all the reviews of people saying they were breaking the hanging bracket but I think the problem is in typical American fashion everybody is just simply over tightening it when it doesn’t require it to be that tight!!

I bought this as an extra measure to prevent my auto top up from flooding my lounge if the sensors fail . The float valve is height adjustable , well made and does the job . I have connected my auto top up pipe straight onto the pipe connection without using the push fit connector. 👍🏻

Use this to auto fill my aquariums, easy to adjust the level I want it set at. Just leave it and go, water stops at my required level.
