Hasbro Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven, Black/Silver

We got this for our 5yo son who loves to help us in the kitchen. It's certainly a product that requires abundant hands on adult supervision (at least for now) but it's been quite fun to bake together. The treats are microscopic but at least the taste has improved in the past 20+ years. Don't remember Easy Bake of yore being a burn hazard but they've certainly improved the design for this model. No direct exposure to heating elements. I suppose you could push the baked item out the other side too soon but that's what the suggested age (8+) and adult supervision are for. We've only had it for a few weeks but it's a big hit so far.

I love this product! First experience with Easy-Bake, so I had no idea what to expect. Pros: Love that it comes in black now, as I was buying it for a boy that loves to cook Fun to do with a child, good bonding time Helps children feel like they are creating and accomplishing something Cons: Takes awhile to preheat/cook/cool down, definitely faster with an actual oven! The treats are really, really small. I was not expecting that for some reason. The treats are like bite-sized, literally! Expensive mixes if you don't make your own Black/grey version doesn't come with cupcake pan I would definitely buy this again, even despite the downsides. After cooking with it a few times I figured out the right consistency to the batters so now they come out a really nice texture. I have only tried the box mixes so far (if you buy a cupcake one it will come with a cupcake pan, since the black/grey version doesn't come with a cupcake pan for some reason). The box mixes are fine, but I will try some of the recipes online/pinterest soon and see how they turn out since that would be much cheaper. It just seems like such a lot of work if they don't work out!

For the last year, my nephew has wanted one thing, and one thing only - an Easy Bake Oven! Because he, his brother, his baby sister, and his parents live with their grandparents (temporarily), it's safe to say that the boys get everything they desire. So it was quite unusual to find out that he had yet to receive an oven of his own. And then we found out why. Living with a very conservative family, gender roles are a big concern for their grandparents. Boys play with boy things, girls play with girl things. God forbid this Kindergartener play with something "girly". My family considered buying a pink/purple oven and painting it a "boy" color, just so we could make him happy. With a little research, we discovered that there was already a "boy" version of the Easy Bake Oven - in black and silver! What other protests could there be, now that the color was taken care of? Oh right, "baking is for girls." Well - not anymore. Thanks to Hasbro, my nephew received the best Christmas gift ever. This product pushes the boundaries of gender stereotyping, and gives little boys like him the chance to enjoy their childhood without being told that what they're doing is wrong, or that doing "girly" things is hurting them. For that, we are very grateful.

Do not spend a penny on this toy. It is the absolute worst thing ever! Its super complicated, requires the parent to do pretty much everything, and I have seen bugs bigger than the cookies this thing spits out. Since the parent is involved in 100% of the process, and you have to preheat the oven for 20 minutes, measure stuff, mix stuff and then place it in the oven which doesn't close on the sides without a lot of work, then you might as well spend the money on toaster oven and get ready made cookie dough and let your kid bake with you in that. It would be 10 times easier!!!

I remember the days with my Easy Bake oven.... This is the same idea. I love the fact I could by my son an EBO! Thank you for creating a blue one. This product is not something you can let your child use alone, unless they are 8+. I would recommend that you first use the food kits they provide, and then decide it is worth buying more. The kits are easy to mix together, and only make doll size portions. Which I feel is perfecto! Give it try, it is a nice throw back to your own past. And, a fun way your child can bake too.

What can I say? It's an Easy Bake Oven. It's expensive. The cool front is just a sticker. You can't see the items baking. You stick the tiny pan in one side, and shove it to the cooling area with a long spatula. The end product is only edible by children. But it's a core part of childhood, and my kids have so much fun creating and baking with it.

This was a gift for my 8-year old granddaughter. She loves it, and had fun baking with the cookie mix that came with it, as well as making recipes from the cookbook for the oven that I also gave her. Have not myself used the oven, but my grand kids love it. Also, would suggest ordering pans to go with it.

I read all the reviews and didn't expect too much from this product. and the other reviews were right on. The tiny mixes are a joke and over priced. Oven doesn't get hot enough to bake products during the recommended time. BUT, this was one of the few things my 4 yr old son wanted from Santa for xmas, so we bought anyways. I do like that there is a neutral/boys version and to see the excitement on his face xmas evewas worth the $.
