will this fit yamasoro chairs?

Yes. I used it on my Yamamoto because the one which came with the chair was not high enough.

Not compressing even with 200-lbs in the chair. Actuator is engaging top button. Cap removed. Any ideas?

when empty, chair should go all the way up when you use the lever. it should go down when you sit if you again use the lever. if it is stuck at the top and u installed correctly then it must be defective. it is a strong item and will not compress at all by just sitting w/out engaging the lever. maybe lever is bent and not releasing air in lift which is of course how it would go down if its working properly. my chair has been at the height i put it at since i installed the new lift—it hasn’t had to be readjusted a single time in months!

Does this 6” stroke version work better for Aeron Classic, or is the older 5" stroke model a better fit?

Both fit the same, as both the bottom and top diameters are the same regardless of stroke. The only reason that I can see to change the stroke is to have a different height adjustment range, if the chair user was happy before I would use the cylinder with the same stroke length.
