good saw update from 2015 in 2022
2022 update. Absolutely no issues with this saw after 5 years of use. Still perfectly aligned with fence and slot. The only possible gripe i could have is the tilt lock knob gets stuck even if you dont reef on it. I cant believe the price increase since 2015, i paid 2k for it back then. 2015>This thing is pretty much the same as the pm2000. Same beefy cast iron blade tilt and raise mech. The shaped base it sits on is not cast iron but the saw weighs a ton. Very well machined parts very well made. It ran on a 15 amp circuit but I put in a 20 amp anyway. No problems there. Runs and cuts great, no vibration. Love the fence and how easy it is to adjust to line up with the miter slots. Blade adjustment is easy too. 4 accessible bolts on the cabinet and you can tap the table around to line up with the blade. The dust collection works great. I never installed the riving knife or safety guard. Overall its s great working saw and a huge upgrade from a contractor type. Very Happy with it. I think its worth the money.( if you routinely cut stout oaken timbers get a 3 HP saw.)

What's Wrong with this Picture - Amazon Prime Customer Service Failure
When you purchase an item through Amazon Prime, the main merchant (Prime) should stand behind the product and service, while not avoiding responsibility by referring any product issues back to the manufacturer. Such was the case when after making a major purchase (in excess of $2,300) through Prime, the product stopped working within 20 days of receipt, due to a defective switch. I was within the timeframe to request that the product be subject to RETURN. However, I thought that that it would be less of a hassle to simply call the manufacture and have them send a replacement part. In retrospect, I should have had Prime pick up the Unit and cancel the sale. But no, I called the manufacturer (JPW Industries in TN) and explained the problem that their switch was defective and that the table saw was inoperable. They had me complete a requisition form, but then informed me that the part (the on/off switch) was backordered and would be available in 4 days. That was three weeks ago. In the interim, I have called the manufacturer 4 times to no avail and no satisfaction. I finally ordered a generic magnetic switch from another vendor and fabricated my own switch to fit onto the saw. So after a three week interruption where the table saw did not work, I had to expend my own money to fabricate a new switch and the time to assemble the same in order to get the saw to work (See attached photo showing their defective switch and the replacement switch). If a product does not meet a basic merchantability of being able to turn it on and off after only a few weeks of use, then the merchant who sold the product should be responsible for replacing the defective part. "Passing the buck" as Amazon Prime seems to be doing more and more of these days, leaves the consumer at the mercy of manufactures and supplies, who don't care, as it wasn't their direct sale.

Good product
I read every review I could on this saw and compared it with other saws of the same type. Some of the review weren't the best so I was a little apprehensive . Saying that I am very happy with the saw. The instruction were clear.I put everything together by myself in about two hours. The test cuts I made were accurate. I am pleased. As for the trucking company that delivered the saw not so much. I have a very large driveway big enough for 2 tractor trailers and this joker dropped this thing off 50 to 60 feet from my shop door he had plenty of room to back up to the door . The person that was there asked him to get it closer and he said no. So if you purchase this be prepared to have to move over 300 lbs of saw .

Big investment for a good table saw
I bought this with the "Sold by Amazon, shipped by Amazon" options and it worked out great. They delivered the saw up to my garage and nothing was damaged in the process. I had previously bought this saw through Amazon and sold/shipped by the CT... company and it took over two weeks to find out the saw had not even been shipped - embarrassing for a company that specializes in big box deliveries. The first order was cancelled.Unboxing was an expectedly tedious process (thanks for all the great reviewers!), mostly because I did it myself. The directions are clear and comprehensive. I had a little difficulty getting the wood-laminate extension bolted level with the cast iron table sections. I took my time leveling everything and really wanted to get it right to avoid problems later on.The only thing that seems to be significantly off from the factory was the riving knife. It is difficult to access the set screws to adjust because you have to remove the riving knife to get to them. Once it's aligned correctly it stays put so no problem.I went from a Dewalt contractor table saw to this saw and I'm very happy. Dramatic noise reduction, much better dust collection, better stability, bigger table work area to handle larger pieces, excellent cut accuracy, and better power behind the blade to get through thicker/denser material. I've had the saw now for about a month. It appears to be built sturdy. I do recommend buying a mobile base (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C74TJKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) if you have a small workshop. The only thing I wish it had was the safety feature of the SawStop, but that's why people pay more for those saws.

High quality at the right price
I went through one of the delta hybrid contractor saws in 3 months so I decided to go up another step. The PM1000 was just right, full cast iron top, heavy cabinet saw, with enough power for a hobby shop. Quality is fantastic. I got a mobile base and it moves very easily. Assembly was pretty easy but it’s heavy. I got it on the base before adding the wings for sure. At this price point it’s a fantastic buy.

This saw exceeds my expectations, exponentially!
I was expecting to get a pretty decent table saw, but what I got was a fantastic table saw. It is quiet, the dust collection works great. and even the miter gauge that came with it didn't end up in my pile of useless miter gauges! It's a lovely piece of equipment and I am looking forward to having this thing for many years and hopefully passing it down to my son someday :)
