General Mills Cereals Boo Berry, 15.7 oz

I grew up in the wonderful 1970s … when good parenting wasn’t defined by micromanaging every facet of life … I thoroughly enjoyed my live-and-learn childhood experience. A quintessential trait of a good 70s parent was always having a box of essential vitamins/minerals and toxic levels of sugar readily available for every breakfast. BOO BERRY (with his monstrous brethren: Count Chocula and Frankenberry) were staples in our household and now my young daughters get to experience a slice of my childhood and all of its sugary goodness.While it is impossible to remember flavors from 40 years ago, the current rendition of BOO BERRY (like Nacho Cheese Doritos) seems to get the formula right. Crunchy, sweet corn/grain nuggets with “blueberry”-sweetened marshmallows. The nuggets and marshmallows are tinted blue with a hint of blueberry flavor … not overwhelmingly sweet tasting, but sweet-enough. The cereal still turns the milk blue and enough “blueberry” flavor to entice you to tilt the bowl and drink it after you’ve eaten the cereal … just as I remembered.Oddly, my kids were both delivered without the accompanying helicopter and they are actually enjoying a healthy childhood (like I did). My girls loved their box of BOO BERRY (Count Chocula and Frankenberry are next on the list) and I loved my trip down memory lane. My only problem is the box art … the cereal tastes the same, but the real Boo isn’t on the box (some things just don’t need to be messed with).

I love the Monster Cereals. Every year I can't wait for them to come out. The problem isn't because of the cereal it was because it was 2 months past it's Best By or Use date. I was stunned when I opened the box and it was stale. Amazon gave me my money back. I'll have to go get this at a store so I know it's freash.
