Wonderful equipment!
This thing is wonderful! It arrived earlier than expected Christmas week, and my husband had it assembled in less than an hour, including taking it out of the package. My 100-year-old father had broken his neck and needs to be helped around, and this has been so useful. It moves easily, even on our carpet (which is older and flatter). He is over six feet, so he does need to be sure to fit his knees into the pads and then sit, or he risks sitting too high on the seat. We had used a more expensive one at the rehab facility and had hoped to find one locally to purchase, but without luck. We took a chance on this one, and it has been well worth the money. We also have a wheel chair and a walker, so with these three, it has simplified getting him around.

What a huge difference!
I have MS. I just had a stroke which was a surprise to me. I thought it was an attack. I Spent nearly 40 days in 2 hospitals and then a rehab clinic. Everyone was determined to get me walking and strengthen the muscles in my legs and arms. For two and a half years I used to crawl on the floor in order to take a shower get from room to room and would need my husband and son to help boost me up to get me into an office chair with wheels so I could move on the kitchen floor. I needed help when I came home just to get up the stairs and we thought I would need a stair lift. I had used a surfboard or wooden board to transfer from a wheelchair to the bed or the commode but I would need something else because I was not comfortable using the surfboard and gait belt. My husband tried to get a Sara-Stedy Because that would make it easier for me to do the transfers. He checked everywhere, but our only option was to spend between three and 4 thousand dollars to get a new one. This was not an option for us because of the cost factor. My husband searched everywhere and finally located this. It even works on our carpeting and it is just like the Sara-Stedy they had at The rehabilitation clinic. It is great! We keep it in the living room and it makes transferring from the wheelchair to the commode easy as pie. I am able to help myself get up by hanging on to the bar with just a little boost from my husband or son. The paddles make it easy to rest and the knee pads keep my knees from giving out. I also am Rolled down the hall and put on my bed. I find this so much easier than struggling with the surfboard. I love my stand assist and the price was just right!

Very well done and great on tile. Difficult on carpet..
This is a great product for the right use case. Unfortunately for us, medium carpet in an apartment made it too difficult to push for my elderly mother (father is user). This was easy to assemble, high quality, and appeared to be a very nice product. It worked well where we used it on the tile. There are a few things to understand that aren't apparent in the video (at least to me). 1. User MUST be able to pull himself up using the handbar. There is no assisted lift. Once up, driver can swing seats behind users rear, so user can sit back. This is nice. 2. Unit is sturdier and more level than I could have hoped for. I'm 6'3", (about 185cm) and did not feel unsturdy when riding as a test. 3. Floor height transitions are the enemy, no matter how small. Imagine driving a loaded shopping cart over a small speed bump. That's about what it's like. Half an inch was impossible. Although post return, I bought a nice rubber product from RampIT that might have solved this problem. Certainly makes it easier on wheelchair. 4. Tile worked great, pretty sure hardwood, laminate would be fine. Apartment had low to medium carpet weave. I could push it, my mom could not without a lot of effort. This is what made me decide to return, I couldn't defeat this. 5. The seats swing into place very easily, but have safety pull rings to open. These were mildly difficult for me, moderately to high difficulty for elderly mother. It was just getting too hard. 6. User had to be able to hold self up when removing seat. 7. You have to think about logistics with what you want to do. There are wheels in front that require clearance. Transfer to/from a recliner was impossible. Bed was fine. Toilet was very tight fit, but fine, except that it was difficult to handle getting pants up, etc... Across the bars. Overall excellent engineered and manufactured product. Only improvements I'd recommend are better wheels or wheel options to deal with mild carpet. The friction was a killer. Also, the pull tabs on the seat releases are potentially too difficult for elderly users. A bonus feature would have been some kind of attachment point for the gait belt for added security when stowing seat. I'm in the process of return, had to pay about $35 for return shipping which I felt was fair, this is a heavy item. I had taken pictures of the box packing as I opened it and pulled stuff out. Never would have figured out the repack without them. Overall, if you are on the fence, you should probably try this product. I'm glad I did and wished it would have worked out. If they move to a place with all tile and no transitions, I'd order again.

The Lumex LF1600 is a genius design that is exactly what she needs.
The LF1600 is very well built, very strong, has an excellent fit and finish, and makes transfers amazingly safe, simple and gives confidence to the patient. It also doubles as a "stand-box" for those who need safety while learning to stand and exercise a weak hip or leg. In the LF1600, she can stand as much as she wants, sit when she wants, and balance or falling are no longer an issue. It works like the old wooden stand-box, that lets a patient work on core strength, and relax while the device prevents slipping and falling, except there are no wooden box walls blocking the view of the therapist. The entire device design is pure genius in simplicity and strength. Well worth the money, and she is much closer to regaining control and strength in her leg.

Makes the impossible possible, but some limits
My husband has Multiple System Atrophy, a rapidly progressing neurological disease. Like Parkinson's, he freezes, and has become unable to turn, making transfers unsafe. After four falls in two weeks, I ordered this. The company I ordered from shipped immediately and it arrived long before Amazon said it would. My daughter and I assembled it immediately, and tried it out as well as demonstrated it to my husband. I expected to actually try it in the morning, however he ended up throwing up in bed that very night. Since he is weakest (and least able to think) at night, I was faced with a nightmare. So with no chance to practice, this became my only tool to help him. First of all, in order to use this, you do need sufficient leg/arm strength to move to a standing position so that the seat can be flipped behind you. This first time, he was terrified and held onto the bar even after the seat was in place. When I finally got the bed made, he couldn't let go of the bar. There are stops at the end of the bar for the seat which because of the way he grasped the bar caused a huge bruise And scrape on his arm. I checked, and there were no rough spots, just a terrified husband with thin skin. On the lift chair, we have to move it into the up position to allow the legs to bring him into position close enough to sit. The first time we tried, I forgot to lock the wheels. When he sat in the chair, the assist device slid away and he slid down the upraised seat and landed on the floor. Oops, ALWAYS lock the wheels! Over time, he has learned to trust this, and we now transfer smoothly, bed, lift chair, bedside commode, standard wheelchair. However, this does NOT work safely with his electric wheelchair. We are still trying different options to move him into it. Another huge issue is that with carpet, once I add his weight, this is harder to move than I would like. Would I buy it again? Absolutely! It has made the impossible possible, at least for awhile longer. Probably the most important feature has been the ability to assist him more when using the commode. He can pull himself up slightly so that I can tug things down. Once trousers are removed, we move the seat and he can sit safely. He keeps this in front of him to pull himself up for assistance when he is done. It also gives me time to check on and treat pressure sores. It is perfect for getting in and out of the hospital bed and allows me to get him into position in a single try. It is harder getting into and out of the lift chair. We use the "inch" method, inching it into position as he puts the lift chair up, or outwards when sitting.

Totally recomended...It gave my father hope and I will never regret buying it...
We got this last year. I have no words to describe how grateful I felt when using this lumex stand assist patient transport unit lift to help my most beloved father. My father spent a whole year laying in a bed in the ICU. When we finally got to take him home he had lost all of his body strength and walking capacity . He was 96 years young, weighed more less 160 lbs and measured 5'8 ft. Leaving the ICU It was essencial for his recovery for him to remain straight up seated and/or in a vertical position along most time of the day. There was no other way to get him up from the bed without the lumex stand assist lift. He was way to heavy for us as he had no control over his legs or body to help himself. While using the Lumex stand assist lift he felt secure and comfortable at all times. I read on a previous review that the wheels might break easily after a couple months of use. It did not happened to us. It is still in mint condition. Though we did took good care of the Lumex stand lift. It was easy to maneuver my dad all around his apartment as the floors are terrazzo. The Lumex stand lift was easy to maneuver over the tiles in the bathroom and the wood in his bedroom. We gave him life quality, he felt alive he was able to see through the windows of his bedroom, leave the bedroom go to the balcony and family room, etc. Once in a while the Lumex stand lift did got wet but thanks God it never broke or rust(pat dry with a towel). . We even used it inside the elevator to take dad to the garage when needed to take him to the doctor. Check the dimentions though as It wont enter through some doors especially if the buttock coushions are flip outwards, if they are closed it will give up a couple inches. All Furniture must have a clearance of at least 6 inches from the floor(with wide open legs) for the Lumex lift to fit under so the patient can reach. My mom is very petit and not very strong woman and she managed to pick up my dad from bed and transport him to the dinning room for breack fast. He was so confident while seating on the Lumex stand lift that he got motivated to walk again on his own after a couple months of family love and physical therapy. Once more I am very greatful to the Lumex stand patient transport unit lift, to Amazon for delivering it overseas, for my spouse who In a very selfless act bought it and sent it to my parents place in such a critical moment my family was enduring with my fathers health. Amazon will deliver the Lumex stand patient transport unit lift outside the USA. Overseas To ensemble you will need two agile, strong adults and a mallet. Once ensemble it wont un ensemble. It was really helpful and We really appreciate the assistance it gave us during a very dificult time. It gave hope to my father and I am very thankful for that. I would totaly buy it again with out a doubt... Totally recomended.....❤️

Mobility game changer! Great product!
This works amazing! Very easy to assemble and extremely smooth rolling. I bought this for a family member who has Parkinson’s and very limited mobility. If a person can stand mostly unassisted this is a game changer! Very secure, fits around a standard toilet and under most chairs and beds for ease of transferring to and from. Highly recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

Standing lift assist
This is a lifesaver if your a caregiver. As a nurse I've used them at work. If the patient can pull themselves up to a standing position with or without assist they can easily be transferred to the toilet chairs or bed. Good price. Highly recommend it
