Tolerated powder coating ok but not the paint blast off prior to powder coat
Had two shallow dings in an aluminum bike frame I planned to have powder coated. I used a hot air gun and an HF IR temperature gauge to dry and harden these layer by layer. I did not fill with one layer but ended up with 3 layers. Took most of an afternoon to alternately apply the goop which was a bit runny even after stirring, and let it dry an hour of so before running the heat gun on the layer until the 350-400F temp was reached as shown by the IR temp readout. When filled after the 3d layer I scraped the heaped up excess down a bit and then sanded til smooth. Unfortunately the powder coater got carried away with the blasting media and blew about half of the fill out. Results ok but should have been better if the blaster had not been so vigorous. FWIW the Alvin thinner is essentially the same as lacquer thinner based on the MSDS. If I ever do another powder coat I would specifically tell the blaster to mask off the Alvin patch or not direct the blaster right at it.

Not exactly "Powder Coatable"
I'll give this product 2 stars (and not 1) because it was easy to work with. It spreads nicely and sands smooth and for the most part, easier to work with than say a Bondo type product. Where it failed was in the powder coat oven. I used this to fill in a welded seam on a flat aluminum piece and then sent it to the powder coater the next day. During powder coating the operators said they heard a loud pop which was the Lab Metal "popping" out of the aluminum due to the heat. The Lab Metal came out as one piece! The oven at the powder coater is about 350 degrees so well within the 1000 degree claim.Had I wanted to paint this piece, this product would have been fine, however I paid the premium price for the claim that it could hold up to powder coating which it obviously cannot.

Too much for too little
I bought this item to glue a spacer on the bottom of a cast iron kettle that is placed on top of the wood stove. When I opened the can their was about 1/2" of some kind of very strong foul smelling solvent. The glue beneath that was almost too hard to stick a screwdriver in. My wife smelled it from the next room an asked me to remove it from the house. I was sure If I used this it would stink up the house with the solvent smell. I thought I could return this product for my $44 refund. I could not since Amazon would not take this item back because it is Hazmat. Very disappointed since I now have $44 worth of worthless glue. I used J B Weld on the kettle. Worked fine.
