Get on you bike and RIDE stationary!

Pictures depict what it is. Easy to set up - nothing special, nothing hard. Substantial weight and build. The supplied QR skewer wasn't needed for my cycle but it should work for any bicycle. I do think there is some tolerance for the shape of the cone/dome ends to make this work for everyone. Nice that they have the front wheel chock included to help keep the bicycle level once mounted. It doesn't take much to tighten this up to the bicycle - the adjustable cup and lock down ring work well with the 90 degree flip handle which locks in the axle of the bicycle. I'd suggest that you tighten the knob of the resistance wheel frame just a bit so you can trial the set up without much effort. I had new, unused smooth tread tires on this bicycle and they transferred a circular winding or rubber about the resistance wheel. Maybe this will happen with everyone with initial use, I don't know. I do suggest folks with used tires actually wash off the rear wheel to minimize any grip and grit issues. I'm thinking that any out-of-round issues with the rim also need to be addressed if they show up with use with the stationary trainer. Anyway, I removed the transferred rubber by having someone else pedal while I used safety razor blade held carefully at low angle on the receding curve of the resistance wheel and 'lathed off' the rubber. With further use, there was only a little bit of rubber loading onto the metal resistance wheel, so I'm suspecting this won't happen to other folks, But, the solution should work for other folks to clean up this part. The other 'blemish' I found occurred was rubber grit fallen off onto the carpet under the lowest curve of the tire. Again, probably due to new tires. The lever which controls the tension of the resistance wheel seems best attached to the handlebar stem because of the cable offset position, which is not readily adjustable. I DO think there is a screw head under the decal plate centered on the lever, since there is a nut opposite and that may allow better adjustment, but that is not out-of-the-box helpful. So, that is a design error, in my opinion. Some folks have said that the resistance is not adjusted by the level, but with the minor pressure I set on my tire with the resistance wheel, I found that it did, even when I changed gears up an down, which further adds to adjustable effort control. I've run this unit for a 10 minute run and it was nice. The unit is stable, for sure, with my 185 lb weight. Just remember, this unit and the front chock set your bike up higher - watch out for 'low hanging fruit' getting in the way if you 'forget' and have your left foot on floor. You need to mount bicycle with left foot on pedal. Or have a 3-4 inch platform on floor near your front wheel, if you insist on mounting from floor. Also, you cannot tip your top bar toward you during mount, as we all normally do, because the bike is fixed in vertical. I suggest you set up a floor fan in front of you to keep you cool and better simulate a ride. You will be surprised how hot you get without normal cooling draft from actual forward motion. Prolly want to have a mat underneath, if you are set up on carpet - or set up on floor or on a cooler porch or in gargage to avoid dripping sweat. I do know these are available specific to stationary trainer use. lastly, I'd set up a cyclometer on the rear wheel so you have this information available for your exercise benefit. I will leave my current unit set up on the front wheel for my time on the road. Any Q's - lemme know. Happy wheeling!Update: Two items I missed. There is a strain-relief plastic ferrule which should hold on tight to the resistance wheel housing out of which the cable to adjust it runs. It just slips off and down the cable, defeating its purpose. A bit of hotmelt glue would hold it in place. There are NOT any reusable, adjustable cable ties to get the adjustment cable out of the way. It just hangs on the floor and flops away from the front wheel due to the angle at which it exits the adjustment lever clamped to your stem/handlebar. I intend to leave this set up for months and would like be be able to reposition it as a whole unit to do housecleaning and avoid flatting specific spots in the carpet permanently, so getting the cable tidy would be part of this and avoid making it a tripping hazard when walking about it. Finally, not about the trainer but about using it, don't forget your right pantleg clip to keep your sweats from getting greased up - minus the bugs and the wet pavement, there are still some user preparations necessary. Lastly, amazon has bumped the price in the 5 days since I bought this, so they have different vendors supplying? I originally tried to get from Mayfair vendor, but they reneged on purchase one day after I'd placed order. Avoid them.

Sturdy, Works as advertised, Great exercise, Quiet.

I received this just a few days after ordering, shipping was excellent and timely. Unpacking it was simple and orderly, once out of the box it unfolds to the fully open position, the manual is a little lacking but conveys the general idea, one thing about the manual, it states it supports 26" - 28" and 700c bike tires, this makes WAY more sense as my 700c x 35 bike tire measures 28" in diameter.Putting my bike on it was simple, I had to use the included quick release as my bikes was not compatible, not a big deal. You screw the knob on the back part of the trainer and tighten to bring closer to your back wheel, easy day.Jumping on the bike I discovered it was very stable, I was initially concerned with this but even with the front piece (included) it is stables enough to stand and pedal if you so desired. The biggest complaint I have read about these trainers is noise, apparently experiences vary, but with my hybrid tires it was not noisy as all, I was watching TV (Well my wife was watching TV and I was tagging along) without having to turn it up. My theory is mountain bike tires > Hybrids > Slicks > Training tires when it comes to noise. All the parts were secure and well made, nothing was lose, it appears I didn't receive the lemon (yes!) that always seems to exist with any given product. I look greatly forward to biking on this thing all winter long.I will update this as time goes on with cons if I come across any.

Very nice option for winter!

I need to be able to spend time riding so that when summer comes, my body does not have to suffer through the first couple of weeks. The setup is easy and there is a nice dial to change the resistance while riding. After 45 minutes, you feel like you've been on a good ride. There is no coasting, so the resistance is steady and is a bit like riding up a 3% grade, or more if you increase the resistance. On the first 30 seconds, the feel is not exactly like biking in that you have to exert extra pressure to get moving. This appears to be a good quality product. One caution: I ordered a wireless odometer. It must be connected to the back tire, since the front tire does not move. The max reach for this was about 22", so the meter had to be mounted near the seat.

Pretty impressive bike trainer

On the positive side, the bike trainer was cheap when I purchased it. Also, it is sturdy and well-built. I feel secure and stable during my workouts, which is vital for my safety and peace of mind. Additionally, the resistance levels are easily adjustable, allowing me to customize my workout intensity based on my fitness goals. However, I have encountered some drawbacks as well. Firstly, I had to take the kickstand off my bike to install the trainer. The setup process was cumbersome and took longer than expected. Also, It would have been helpful if the instructions were more clear and concise. Secondly, the bike trainer is somewhat noisy when I increase the resistance. It may be distracting and disrupt your focus during workouts. In conclusion, while the bike trainer has some positive aspects, such as its sturdy construction and adjustable resistance levels, it also has room for improvement. The noise level and setup process could be addressed to enhance the overall user experience. Overall, it is a decent bike trainer, but there are areas where it could be improved.
