Love this filter, and mostly just use these inserts to filter the tank. (Only use the carbon when needed - like to clear medicine from the tank, etc.) These do the day to day job on their own, really. And last a long, long time if only rinsed in tank water when necessary. Hope Amazon gets these back in stock?!
