I purchased this because of the ability to carry a highly portable smartphone tripod with extension facilities. Generally most elements - the tripod functionality, the phone clamp, and the extension pole - worked well (although they don't feel that robust). The remote shutter was a different matter. It's not very good and there is a noticeable lag when pressed. I have used Bluetooth shutters before and my £4.99 standalone model was far more reliable in use. In addition, it 'sits' loosely in a hole in one of the legs but doesn't 'lock' in place, meaning it can easily (and did, without me noticing) fall out. It seems a relatively simply design change to ensure it can lock in place on the unit. Replacing it (if lost) is very expensive (around £50!), so Joby need to release a V2 of this product to avoid this happening to unsuspecting customers.

Was quite excited about it after reading the reviews, when I tried to remove from the jiffybag packagingit was stuck. Realised because the security seal was missing. Opened it, followed the instructions and either bits missing or it's a poor item. When panning it collapses.

After looking at the next to useless "instructions" I connected the remote shutter release via bluetooth to my iPhone 13.The phone detected the shutter release and made a connection.Within 5 seconds the connection dropped.The same thing happened every time. It never holds the connection for more than 5 seconds.I tried connecting it to my iPad. Again the connection was made, but almost instantly the connection drops.The number given here for customer support was answered by an operator who immediately told me that they do not offer customer support for items bought through Amazon - only if bought through the manufacturer.Really very irritating.I have submitted a return - without ever being able to use the thing.I might add that the instructions are more or less non-existent - a few obscure diagrams.Made in China, of course. £70 for something that is real c--p.

Works really well, item is versatile and of high quality. The stability is really good for the tripod for both when the phone is attached in portrait and landscape mode, which is not the case with a lot of cheaper items.The only thing I've found with the item is the weight which could be a little bit too heavy compare to some other smartphone / GoPro tripods, but then again, it's due to the solid construction, so I can't complaint.

I purchased this to help me with my online teaching but actually found the tripod not sturdy enough to stay in place. However I now use it to go on walks and take pictures of my surroundings and the stick works wonders for this. I love the remote and even when it fell apart once (because I dropped the stick) it went back together and worked wonders again. Thanks

Not as light as other tripods are, but the versatility and durability of this are great, and the remote shutter release works brilliantly

So far this product is excellent haven't fully used it continuously but so far good
