Samsung S-View Flip Cover for Samsung Galaxy S6 - Gold

UPATE 5/20/16 The case is still looking brand new...I dropped it (with phone) like 5 times which one drop cracked the right top corner but it still holds the phone like always...I STILL RECOMMEND THIS CASE! I hope when I upgrade that there will be a similar case :-) If you have any questions please feel free to ASK!UPDATE 12/16/15...Okay I am officially giving this case 5 STARS!!!! I purchased the case on Nov 24th for about $13 and I LOVE IT!!! I finally got the S VIEW to work as described :-) No crack No fading...its ALL GOOD!!! and, guess what its only $10 (don't know for how long)...I just received my S View case in Gold... Delivery was as expected case I am a Prime member... The case comes in a Samsung package (like in the Sprint store) and a Limited Warranty Card for accessories (it's not an actual card but a pamphlet that I haven't read yet)... The case activates the S View in case you was wondering how the heck the S View will work (I didn't have to go to settings... I didn't have to do anything special to activate the S View it just worked)... F you want to change the S View Display just go to Wallpaper and you'll see that S View has been added as an option... Okay it's true that the plastic corners look like they will break easily so be very gentle inserting and removing your phone... DO NOT even consider that this is a case protector against drops!!! And, PLEASE have a screen protector (I always have a screen protector when I purchased my phone/s) so please don't ask why a screen protector is needed (JUST BUY ONE)... And, I purchased this for $12.55 with my own money (no freebie for a good review)... I will make another REVIEW or UPDATE this one when I have actually put the case to USE... but, for under $13 I'm happy for now... I gave 4 stars cause I like the functionality, color, and packaging...

Manufactured by Samsung and specifically designed for the Galaxy S6, this folio style case boasts "smart" features that allows one to accept incoming calls without actually opening the flip case. The call quality was surprisingly clear with the cover left on. While on a call, some other great features include: ability to mute yourself, access to activate the speaker phone, and the ability to end the call. When not on a call, the s-view basically displays your home screen and gives you update notifications. The notifications are dismiss-able but NOT actionable in the s-view. Actionable items include: responding to events, notifications, and timers; controlling your music playback; accessing your contacts; accessing the camera; and accessing S-Voice via the "Hi Galaxy" prompt.The exterior of the S-View folio is made up of a one-piece polyurethane. It has a textured feel to it with openings for the camera and front speaker.On the inside of the front flap there is a hard shell covered in a soft matte finish. It has a slight indentation for the raised home button. This is a nice consideration in not activating the home screen and draining your battery while the case is in your pocket or purse. By opening the case, the screen of the S6 will automatically turn on. When closed, the S-View window activates for a short period.There is a clear hard shell case for the phone attached to the inside back cover. The same soft matte cover sits on top of the hard shell, protecting the back of the Galaxy S6 while inside.On the side of the case, there are labelled volume buttons so you know exactly where to press. The charging port and headphone jack are also completely accessible at all times.Size-wise, the case adds minimal bulk. With the case on, the dimensions grow to:5.71” (145 mm) from 5.65" (143.4mm)2.92” (74.3 mm) from 2.78" (70.5mm)0.48” (121 mm), from 0.27" (6.8 mm)The case weighs in at 1.76oz (50g).One of the common concerns is that dust and sand gets trapped and can cause scratches to the screen.The s-view is definitely not smudge free, and is most noticeable when the phone is not active. Keeping it clean can be a bit of a nuisance, but this comes with the best of cases/covers and screen protectors. I've used this folio case for 3 months without a screen protector, it's main resident in the breast pocket of my jacket; and while the S-View area of the screen was noticeably dirtier, cleaning it with a micro cloth revealed zero scratches to the screen itself. With that test out of the way, I did install the IONIC Pro Tempered Glass screen protector to provide that extra peace of mind... Lastly there is no magnet that helps keep this case closed, not that this has never posed an issue for me.Overall, the case is an excellent option for casual protection against drops, nicks, and scratches. With a phone that has a glass backing, you should definitely invest in a case. I have yet to drop the unit, and do not plan to. The s-view provides access for most basic functions, is stylish, and adds very little in terms of bulk. The only pitfall to this was the price tag. With a RRP of $50, I would expect more protection. With the prices much lower now, it's definitely a case worth considering.2016-07-04 Update: Although I did not plan to drop my phone, I read several complaints about drops and damage. Seeing as I had only paid 10.7% of the RRP, I had to try it for myself. From a height of 42", I knocked the phone off my hand with minimal force (only enough to send unit off my hand). The point of impact was the bottom right corner of the phone. The corner piece of the hard plastic case attached on the inside back cover chipped off. While the unit still held in the case without any problem, slight lifting was easily achieved (the case was still totally usable and functional otherwise). Damage to the phone itself was non-existent, not a single scratch. So it appears as if the case did it's job.I called Samsung to ask about warranty for such "accidents", but was told that their accessories do not carry one.Overall, I'm still happy with the case, I was able to find an identical replacement for 88% off RRP.

Love the cover. I agree with other posts that the little plastic tabs are brittle. I've had the cover on the phone for 3 days. One tab is already showing signs of cracking. The last cover I bought with the phone, at a substantially higher cost. For me, the costs out weigh the crack. If this one last 2 years like the last one. I can live with it ! It'll be an excellent buy.

I carry my phone in my pocket with a set of keys, coins and a pocket knife. I broke the screen in the past when moving around or leaning against something and putting pressure on the screen. This cover does a great job of protecting the screen and still allowing me to view incoming calls or other basis info. It can seem a little awkward when taking pictures but overall once you get use to it there is little that can't be overcome.

Super quality and excellent performance. Only thing is that some cracks are observed while using. We thought that due to hot weather. Can you please tell me the actual reason for cracks.

The S-View has no sensor. Marketing of S-View cover for J2 Core is being done with lies.Its just a leather flap. Asthetically okay. Functionally useless.
