Update: still love! We have now had this bone for 3 months. It is still in great shape and the dogs still love it! We had to buy a second one to keep both dogs happy. It is chewed every day by a very aggressive chewer and it is holding up very well. No problem with chunks coming off or upset tummies. Absolute best I have ever seen for an aggressive chewer (talking to you, my pittie and lab friends!) Original review: Love these bones!! I have super chewers in my house. They can destroy anything, including toys marketed to aggressive chewers, to the point where I am nervous leaving hard toys with them for fear they will chomp off chunks and swallow them. Flip side of problem - some of the few durable toys that will survive them and are safe are not interesting to them, including most flavored nylon or rubber bones. Enter the BarkBone! We have used this is our house and purchased it for friends and everyone (dogs and humans) is a fan. The dogs go back to them every day. The constant chewing does wear them down slightly, but only very slightly. No large pieces come off so there is no worry about chunks, choking or $800 stomach surgeries. Love this product and will continue to purchase. PS - dogs we have tested it on are mixes of Pit Bull, Collie, German Shephard, Ridgeback, Boxer, Lab and Hound.

This is the only toy that can withstand our Doberman. She rips through "indestructible" toys in minutes. And I'm talking the super expensive ones with the highest chew ratings. Tuffy, Kong, you name it. If they claim it's indestructible, she's probably destroyed it. This thing however is an f'ing miracle. They last 3-4 months before she's worn them down to a dangerous nubbin. She is clearly chewing bits off of it, but they're itty bitty and non-toxic - no large chunks to choke on or wreck her insides. It does get rougher as it wears down, but nothing gum-damaging.

We have a lab/springer mix and he is a big guy. He is tough on toys and destroys many in a day. These bones are nearly indestructible. He does go through one every 3 months or so. But the price is great and he no longer chews on anything else in the house! Well worth the money.

This is seriously big and clunky. When my dog drops it, it makes such a loud noise on my hard wood floors. But, not a single nick in the fo-bone in over two months! Dog likes it okay, though not obsessed. She's a very aggressive chewer, so nice that those you use safe for her. This is jumbo size! I would get smaller next time, even for a jumbo dog.

My grand dog is very large (90+ lbs) and still a puppy, so he chews through all his toys and most bones. This product is perfect for him, and he loves it! So far it's holding up to all his chewing and it keeps him from chewing things he shouldn't - too long a list to mention! My daughter and I are very pleased with this dog bone!

I have two heavy chewers so purchased two. Later, I purchased two more and it seems to be a continuing trend as these seem to be a favorite. The husky being the most aggressive. There is absolutely nothing this dog can not destroy. Except for this. She chews, and chews and chews and then at 2 am in the morning, she gets it and lays next to us in bed chewing some more. She will knawel on these until they are nubs. Yes, it is heavy duty and it seems to last some time before she chews it down to a point that is not safe and can be swallowed. YES! She chews that much. Our dane/pit mix likes it as well. He is not much into toys but he does chew on this from time to time. When the grand dogs, (2 pits, 3 black labs, 1 golden retriever and 3 awesome big dogs we have no idea what they really are other than loved) they all go to the toy bin and pull these out. It seems to be a favorite around my house. WARNING: My lovely husky also likes to sneak her toys outside. These blend in very well with the ground and can be missed when picking up the yard before mowing. They WILL sound horrible when being alliterated by a mulching blade not to mention the damage to your mower.

I gave this to my German Shepherd on Christmas and hours later it had tons of bites marks, his gums were bleeding a bit and the toy is so pokey it hurts my skin to touch it. I know dogs break bones easy, I have 6 dogs and used to that by now. I continue to buy bones for my German Shepherd because he enjoys them so much, but this one I'm not sure if I'll buy again.

My pocket pit, whose favorite thing in the world is chewing, absolutely loves this bone. It’s her favorite of all “tough chewer” bones thus far, and it’s been OUR favorite because it has lasted the longest out of all! No longer are we buying 2 nylabones per week, this one bone has lasted our dog for 3 months. The only con is that when then bone goes through some chewing, it hurts worse than a lego to step on, so watch out for the mini-shank on the ground.

My dog bites the pieces n swallow. Since it is made of Nylon, is it harmful to his health? He loves chewing but he swallow the small pieces. Is it ok?

Delivery was perfect I bought two bones one bacon flavoured and this peanut butter. Our female Danu is a bit possessive so I likley will need to buy more bones as she will steal them from our male Mactire. The bones are amazing I was worried they wouldn’t be interested in them but no way will I even attempt to touch the bones they are being devoured. So happy they have a chew bone that they can enjoy! Wonderful product! Big woof from the wolves on approval.

I was going to send this back right away - wish I went with my gut. My dog decided he liked it and within a few days had chewed it so that he had sharp points. He then landed up with a skin infection and bleeding and I couldn't figure out why until I read one of the reviews. He would hold the sharp edges and they would rub and cause an open wound. He didn't even get to enjoy the entire toy because the nubs are turned into sharp pieces of glass in no time. I have a 7 month old pyranese/st bernard and so far the only chew toys I would recommend are the heavy duty Kong rubber toys and actual dog bones - anything like this or like a nylabone simply doesn't hold up no matter how much they promote them for aggressive chewers.
