I was totally disappointed with this book when I received it. It's a step away from a colouring book. There's not much cultural-historical/anthropological information about the patterns featured. I immediately sent it back.

Each two page picture spread has a few words describing the intricate and colorful images in this book. The author and artist is an indigenous Australian and there is a brief bio in the last couple of pages.Recommended.
